Got an S7 back in march of 2016. Kinda realized how constrictive it can be. (Nowhere near as bad as iPhone, which I had since 2011.) Regardless, rooting is a bitch/impossible, and just generally fucking with the ROM or what have you is a bitch with the flagship phones.
My friend, who's a biiiiig tech nerd software engineer has a OnePlus 3 and I really liked it. I'm open to other options though. Is getting a China phone the best option? To me, it seems cheap, powerful, flexible, and just better overall. Which phones do you guys recommend? (Doesn't have to be China, I've just noticed they're cheap for how powerful they are.)
nexus 5x and copperheados

One plus 3t/3 is the only chink phone I'd recommend, others are trash
>>58954531
For sure. As far as domestic what do you recommend? Pixel seems cool, but a) expensive b) I feel like it's going for an iphone ideal, which is what I'm trying to avoid, lol. Nexus 5x is kinda cool, but it seems a little underwhelming hardware wise? I could be wrong, still learning.
What's the most powerful rig you've seen someone keep in their home?
Including clusters, home servers, mining rigs, whatever.
Specs and pics if you've got 'em.

One of my dads friends worked on DEC machines for most of his career and bought a VAX which he kept in his living room after he retired.

I love how he describes his failed attempt of doing damage control as "miscommunication".

Well guys, I work in video production and I'm legitimately unable to find a better laptop on the market than the revised 14" Razer Blade at any price.
MBP is missing a dozen keys/ports and has a crap GPU. Thinkpad P50 and equivalent WS laptops' GPU choices are all too weak and the displays are meh. Other gaymen laptops can be found with good specs but their designs look like they're emulating the hood from a toy RC car.
Prove me wrong gee
>>58953688
Well seeing as how your opinion on the laptop's design enters into how good you think the laptop is it'll be pretty difficult to prove you wrong.
>>58953688
>Thinkpad P50 and equivalent WS laptops' GPU choices are all too weak and the displays are meh.
>GPU to weak
What?
You can't really compared a certified workstation GPU with some random gaming GPU. I'm not familiar with video editing, but are you sure they are really weaker?
And the default displays are indeed crap, but you can buy a better one in most cases.

Buying form over function is one thing, but not wanting a permavirgin gaiming toy as your main tool is totally understandable. I mean you could also walk around in public in joggers with a crop-top, but if you want to be taken seriously, you opt for something more agreeable.

What are shellcode, ROP payloads and reverse engineering nigger?
This is how delusional macfags are. There are already kernel exploits for OSX out there.

So for some reasons I get a lot of bans that aren't mine over my mobile IP(s)
Now it looks like a range ban is on my phone, banned page says I'm not banned.
Any idea why this shit happens?
I know dynamic IPs but this never happens on my Comcast Internet ever.
Also I can't think of anyone besides Lanced Jack who got a part of the US range banned. Did my IP reset to one in his range maybe?
phone networks aggressively revoke leases so you can turn off mobile data and turn it back on and basically ban evade instantly.
Thus some shitposters on certain cellular networks use this to incessantly shitpost.
It's really fucking gay and annoying and as a result you're now range banned on your cellular network. Rip

had nudes on a micro SD card which is now unreadable by computer and phone. how do i get em back?
>>58952953
Recovering data form an SD card is actually a little bit more difficult to recover data form a USB.
How well do you know electronics? is it actually dead?
>>58952989
I can't be sure. The phone picks up that something is in the micro sd slot but quickly says its blank and unreadable before saying "sd card unmounted"
Ive tried using two different micro sd to regular sd adapters and inserting into my computer and the computer doesnt pick it up at all
>>58952989
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as a USB, is in fact, a portable flash mass storage device with integrated Universal Serial Bus interface, or as I've recently taken to calling it, flash drive plus USB interface. USB is not a storage device unto itself, but rather another name for an industry standard that defines cables, connectors and communication protocols used in a bus for connection, communication and power-supply between computers and external peripherals.
Many computer users use a variant of the flash drive every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the variant of flash drive which is widely used today is often called a USB, and many of its users are not aware that it is the flash drive, developed by Trek Technology and IBM.
There really is a USB, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. USB is the receptacle: the connector in the system that accepts and embraces the plug of the male connector. The receptacle is an essential part of a USB system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete USB system. The female USB receptacle is normally used in combination with the male USB plug, such as on the flash drive: the whole system is basically the flash drive with the USB interface, or flash drive/USB interface. All the so-called USB distributions are really distributions of flash drive/USB interface!
/g/, what would be a term for someone well-versed in technology, specifically computers? For example, programming, systems administration, gentoo installing, cyber security/pentesting/reverse engineering, networking, and hardware? "Hacker" has too many negative connotations, "programmer"/"developer" or "systems/network admin" is too specific, and "computer expert" just sounds ridiculous, as if someone is just strictly IT.
