ho boy, do i have a story for you

So basically, this cartoon is about sentient objects taking part in a Survivor/TDI-like game show where they take part in challenges, and each episode someone is eliminated. It got so popular that it basically inspired the "Object Show" genre, wherein people make their own version of BFDI, with different prizes and object contestants. These shows vary greatly in quality and success, probably the most famous example is "Inanimate Insanity" by Adam Katz.

Not really, mostly because if we are being honest I can't think of any comic book writers whose work I enjoy for the writing.

Maybe old-school Alan Moore, but he hasn't been that guy for a long time.

In general the writing of western comics is a shitshow because of issues of pacing and the fact that almost every story or plot thread created by a writer gets resolved years later by a different writer who probably didn't even get your notes. And that's not even counting the executive curveballs likes getting told in the middle of your run that you have to switch spidermans or its time for Civil War 9 or something.

I don't read western comics for the stories, I read them for the characters and hope that this issue will be one of the good ones instead of one of the bad.

Manga I read for the stories, because manga is actually allowed to tell stories from start to finish, not from start to- has it been three years? Lets restart.

Yeah, in general I think western comics are usually better for short-term isolated moments and manga are usually better for long term build.

(Assuming that we're talking about the best of both types. The worst manga are otherworldly bad.)

I don't think it would last long. Yeah, it would be funny cartoon about a girl and her lolrandumb imagination, but it might get boring after a half of the season or so. Real monsters with their own character (not someones fantasies) and interdimensional adventures are much cooler.
Talking about the channel, i see it more like Nickelodeon show.

I like Nefcy's early concepts very much tho.
