Have you ever felt dread presence? You're sitting alone, minding your own business. Maybe you're reading a thread on /x/, maybe you're watching a funny YouTube video. Then all of a sudden something massive and cold rolls into the room, your adrenaline kicks in, and the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. This happens to me at least once every couple months. I've had a few paranormal experiences in my life, but this one frightens me the most. Anyone else have any similar encounters and/or advice for me?

Let's talk about dreams for a sec, /x/.
What do you think they truly are? Are they collages of past experiences with some added creativity, or do they hold some deeper meaning?
I like to think that it's a bit of both, and not always at the same time. I can tell when a dream is just a mishmash of things I've been experiencing or imagining, but there have been particular dreams that I feel have been different enough to ask what's behind them.
Particularly, I remember a week back when I was a teenager where I had a series of dreams of me living an alternate life in a different place, going to a different school, seeing things that were similar to my reality, but different enough to raise an eyebrow. The dreams themselves weren't that weird, in fact it was just me having an everyday life in this odd alternate reality, but the fact that I had a whole week of dreaming about the same place in a cohesive timeline was definitely very surreal.
From then on I've been wondering if there are times where dreams serve as windows to alternate realities, or some kind of event where something tries to tell us something.
My mother dreams about my deceased grandpa when she's in times of need and needs someone to turn back to, and before my grandpa died it was her aunt. This could totally be her own mind machinating new things in her sleep, but it always makes me think about the "what if?"s raised by my previous experiences.
I dunno, they're weird and mysterious to me. The fact that everyone can see them but noone can observe them adds to the mystery.
