I was told to post this here.

I believe in creation. Let me preface this by saying that I do not align myself with any religion, I simply believe in the concept of creation.

So there are usually a few answers for where our Universe comes from. First, that it was created by my specific God and not the other ones, because they are separate entities (or maybe they claim that all those Gods are just one God, not sure). Second, that the Universe has existed without creation (that is, the Universe is infinite and eternal, no beginning, no end). Third, we are all in a simulation. This ties into the whole bit about "reality is not verifiable, it's all fake". I believe this is an intellectually bankrupt way of getting into the mainstream for philosophers, to just pump out theories and have them exist because they used esoteric rhetoric. It's a different road to go down, and I am not interested in going down it right now. I will focus on the first two answers.

Let's say the Universe has always existed (it could be a chain of other Universes, or multiverses, but let's just say it is singular). If the Universe has always existed, then it is infinite, it is eternal. Anything that exists within the bounds of the the Universe "exists", it is in the bound of reality. Anything that is outside these boundaries does not exist. But there can be no "outside" if the Universe is infinite. If it eternal, all-encompassing, has always existed, no beginning/end, then there cannot be a nothingness. Therefore, there cannot be an expansion of the Universe, turning the nothing into something (i.e. expanding the boundaries). But we know that the Universe is, indeed, expanding. Which leads me to my conclusion.
It is more logical to introduce creation as a necessary consequence of existence than to assume that the Universe has always existed. Not some creator with a beard, just some thing that is a precursor to existence.

This morning I was awoken by a strange and terrible dream.

Out of boredom, I drove to a friend's house in the neighborhood that I spent a great deal of my childhood. When I got there nobody was home, so rather than sticking around I decided to walk around the area and ran into a couple of old friends. While talking, we're interrupted by a flash of brilliant light in the sky, which is revealed to be explosions out in space of two unidentified crafts battling. One is hit directly and explodes in a cascade of color, which begins coalescing into the form of an unimaginably large man, with sword in hand. (For some reason my mother shows up and urges me to get home as fast as I can.) As the man and the sword fully come into being, the other craft also begins to form a shape in the sky but before it can, time freezes and the blade plunges through the Earth, cutting it perfectly in two. The creature from the stars throws me into the middle of the Earth, which seals itself back into a whole. I find myself in a Hellish landscape made of spikes and needles, where I writhe and scream as my flesh is endlessly tended and it is explained to me that the only way the world can continue to exist is if I am bled dry for the rest of eternity. I see other people bleeding, large insects skewered on spikes twitching and writhing while fountaining gore and myself, in third person, bleeding from every orifice.

What the fuck did I dream up, /x/?
