This is the rumor since 4th August 2016, according to this rumor
1. The same sources confirmed that the Eurogamer report last week - which revealed that NX will be a portable machine that can be plugged into a TV and features a breakaway controller

2. NX is currently slated to launch in March next year worldwide.

3. Developer Game Freak will bring Pokémon to the platform, while Nintendo’s first party titles include the previously announced Zelda game – Breath of the Wild – and
a new Mario game. All three products are scheduled to appear within the first six months of the machine’s life.
So i believe this will correct as well , because "Nintendo have told MCV that the firm is determined that NX will not suffer the same slow start as either the Wii U or 3DS."
Follow the tradition of new Pokemon main game.
- Zorua and Zoroark reveal in CoroCoro February 2010 (beginning of gen 5)
- 3 starter and Legendary of XY reveal in trailer at 8 Jan 2013 (beginning of gen 6)
- Magearna reveal in CoroCoro February 2016 (begining of gen 7)
That is the reason why there is no 3rd legendary for Sun Moon. Pokemon movie 2017 will have Marshadow as mascot and feature Solgalio and Lunala. Pokemon movie 2018 will have mythical Pokemon from gen 8 .
If my theory is correct . February 2017 gamefreak will announce gen 8.
Slowest might be February 2018 for gen 8 announcement.

So considering the leakers found the entire Alola in-game map does that mean thats all there is in the game?
No additional islands? No Battle resorts/frontiers/anything
Just the main islands and the only thing in the post game will be some missions around the islands like looker missions and the battle facility is just Battle Royale?

I'll be honest here and I'm gonna get ALOT of shit for this but in my opinion I think the alola starters are the best and coolest looking starters we've had since ruby sapphire and emerald and I really like their designs and concepts. I don't really understand why everyone hates them so much. I mean rowlets evolution is rather unexpected and really cool looking with the whole Robin Hood motif, littens actually looks cool despite it being bipedal and It's a fire dark rather than fire fighting, and Popplios evolution is absolutely beautiful and majestic as fuck and its essentially a huge fuck you to the popplio haters that just slammed Popplio when the game was first announced. I was actually really excited and really happy when these three were leaked back in early June. And desu I was going to only pick popplio from the get go even before these were revealed alongside lurantis but they made salandits evolution a fucking waifumon so I'm not going to have half a team of nothing but waifumons so I've decided I'm going to use all three starters on my team instead. I'm personally happy they went in this direction with the starters and didnt make them look like just some sort of generic fire cat or a fat old or a fucking terrifying clown seal hybrid (lookin at you ballio). And btw the absolute denial behind these guys' existence was FUCKING HYSTERICAL.

Honestly this a bit mind boggling to me
20th annivesary game
Low number of new pokemon
Low number of new "Alola forms"
No Soaring despite the fact that Alola looks like it was made for that
No significant battle facility like Frontier or PWT even though both would be HUGE thing
No second region even though fans have been whining about it for decaded
No following Pokemon
And yet the game is 3.2 GB.
HOW?
Sure some of the stuff SM has is very cool (like riding Pokemon, customization, photos) but most of those were already established in gen 6 or even 5 (joina avenue) so they just updated it. None of these things scream "WOW, they went all out"
