Hyper training will bring the stats up as if the Pokémon had maximum IVs, but the IVs themselves won't change, so hidden power and breeding won't be affected.

the event markers are on the map so you don't run into another cutscene without doing all the exploring and grinding you want in that area. it's the same as most previous pkmn games, just now you know where progression is so you don't accidentally trigger it.
TDLR: Don't always go rushing towards that quest marker.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by the difficulty. Don't get me wrong it's still a Pokemon game almost all trainers are easy and some of the Totems/Kahunas are easy, but there are a few tough ones and the champion is the hardest ever in my opinion.
