So let get this straight
>Nanu was an interpol agent at least equal to Looker
>he also trained Anabel before leaving the InterPol
>Is a Police Officer in Alola, supposedly the Chief of Police according to some anons
>Is also the Kahuna of Ula'ula for who knows how long
>Has some sort of relationship with Acerola and possibly a connection to the Aether House
>Seems to know more than he lets on as he knew that storming Aether Paradise would be no easy task
>Also seems to be on good terms with Team Skull as he has full access to Po Town, and hell you even have a grunt squatting outside of his house
>He knew about about where all the UBs and how many there were

I was a huge pokemon fan from 1998-2003, in my youth. I went completely cold on the series up until a few weeks ago. I came on here out of curiosity and noticed you guys argue a lot about gen 4 and 5.. I thought it'd be interesting to get the perspective of someone who played them back to back, without bias. So these are my thoughts after completing both games.

Pokemon black 2:

The bad:
Okay so the first thing I noticed is that this game is terribly, terribly ugly. I've seen some people try to pass off the ugly saturated colors as "vibrancy" but it's not tastefully done. There are some pretry areas here and there (the ranch towards the beginning was great) but for the most part, the game is an uneven eye sore.

The sprites are god awful as well, they traded in the crisp motionless sprites for lumps of pixels that rock back and forth and the result is just... No.

The story is a convoluted pile of shit that just gets in the way. I groaned every time bianca approached me to vomit out some more exposition. Lets get something straight. Gamefreak is shit at writing and they need to stop. Let my mom say goodbye to me and get my ass on the road. If you want to defend this tumor of a story.. Go ahead. You're only making yourself look bad.

I don't like the pokemon distribution. Sure.. There is variety but there's something about the way that all these different pokemon are lumped into tiny locations.. It just doesn't feel natural. In return.. It doesn't feel rewarding to catch them. It cheapens the thrill of finding a new pokemon. It feels like a chore

To sum it up.. The game lacks soul. It just doesn't have a masters touch and it's ugly as all fuck.

The good:
It's a decent challenge. The high variety of pokemon can lead to some interesting teams. The music is nice. The areas that are done well are done really well.

Be honest.

None of your shitty pokemon from these games are worth the trip to gen 4 and beyond. Gen 4 changed the game too much for your sorry fucks to even keep up. Gen 5 made most of your personal gen 3 pokemon even more irrelevant with new breeding mechanics. Gen 6 made breeding perfect pokemon trivial so breeding better versions of your old shit mons is easier than porting them all the way up thru gens. Why did GF even waste time creating a way to move pokemon thru gens?

How many of you can honestly say you have a pokemon from gen 3 that was relevant in post game battle facilities and/or wi-fi throughout gens 4-6?

Does anyone else feel like the Pokemon games lost their charm after like the first or second generation? I really like their glitchy nature, the simplicity of the game mechanics, the buffer underflow issues and DV's instead of IV's and stat experience instead of EVs.

I don't like having hundreds of pokemon to choose from, or weird minigames and personalities and affection. I like that the DVs are used to calculate gender and shininess.

I feel like I can't wrap my head around the newer games, not like with the old ones.
