While true, at the same time you are basically reading VNs for the sake of reading VNs if you have moved onto something you aren't as much a fan of or have to take pot luck on quality. You can get the odd surprise/gem out of it but it isn't always worth it due to how long VNs usually are and is probably better to move onto playing JRPGs or reading some normal books that suit your taste until some stuff you like comes out (though if into moege you are out of luck are are stuck with the release of VNs as I don't really know of any equivalent media).

If a translation drops honorifics then it automatically is shit. Only reason to change them is because it sounds jarring. I'm not a fan of honorifics because they constantly introduce foreign elements into the script which negatively impacts the flow, and also make a lot of lines, especially those that require speed for impact, come off as kinda awkward (as you always have a whole redundant word in it). On top of it, using them means you can't use English honorifics (Ms./Mr.) which can be great for nicknames and funny lines, so you're also limiting yourself. Most of all, using them also feels like an admission of defeat -- you're basically admitting you're unable to translate the text into natural sounding English.

I'm not as bothered by senpai/sensei/oniichan as they don't come up in every sentence and are not as complex and nuanced as honorifics. Still, there's no point to keep them in the text if they can be easily localized and don't serve an important role in the plot. I'm not a big fan of changing them to names as, like you said, it clashes with the voice-acting, but unfortunately you can't avoid it sometimes. I tend to preserve the Japanese name order for the same reason.

I guess in case of moege set in Japan honorifics aren't that bad of an idea since they're designed as dumb fun for weebs anyway, but I'd try to avoid using them in any work known for flowing prose. Also, 99% of the text already doesn't overlap with the voice-acting in a translation anyway.

It's not that hard if you max cards + agi. The overkill exp was negligible compared to to killing things in one or two turn bonus. I never ended up buying skills because I noticed the cost went down when I leveled the cards instead.

From memory the turn bonus came from killing in under 5 turns so what I did was simply optimize the damage I dealt for the last possible turn. there was also the moment in the first half where you get much weaker, I tried to pool as much XP as I could to level up during that weakened time because it was the cheapest, trying to survive against Angela with the absolute minimum I could get away with was kind of rough.
