I think the worst part about that combo is if it was done successfully, you could inflict 285 damage plus 3 tick afterburn and get away with it. Powerful and quick enough to kill a full health Heavy within seconds. Just flat out dumb, and the usual loadout to see on a Pyro was just Degreaser/Flare/Axtinguisher.
Even better was the scripts your usual Pyro main had that made it even easier to pull off.
Then when the Axtinguisher got nerfed twice, all the Pyros mains then started using the Powerjack because "muh speed".

Flare is still good at out-of-flamethrower range testing for spies, while the shotgun will only let you know if you got them once.

The flare is also good in assisting other pyros who have managed to light their opponent but are still having trouble.

The main benefit of the flare is that it's all-or-nothing, you don't miss pellets with the same frequency, so the better you are at predicting your shots you can get more damage out at range.

If you're straight out of Modern FPS-41 sure, use the shotgun, you baddie.

You may know RobTheAwsm as a TF2 player, and all around nice guy. But, today, I happened to stumble upon a Valve server. I was playing along as usual, and then I saw a familiar name in the scoreboard, and he goes by the name "RobTheAwsm". As I said before, he is a nice guy, and I do enjoy his videos. But, I was skeptical about him for a moment, since I did not know if he was real or not. I went to go check up on him and see if he was streaming on TeamFortress.tv, and sure enough, he was, on the same server I was on, so I decided to have a little fun with killing him and stuff. So, I did just that, and taunted a few times after that. I was going to stop after a while, until he said "he's not even good..", when I had killed him a bunch of times. He started talking about how I double jumped a lot, and how it was not good for competitive. I do take criticism as a good thing, to help me learn the game, which I was happy for him to part.
So, after a while, he had left the game. I then joined his other game, to see what he was up to. He had joined the other team, and I went Sniper, and started killing him. Not taunting anymore. He started to get a bit skeptical about me, making remarks about my kills, and stuff like that. Then, after he had left, I had decided to make another account for the stream and say sorry to him on the stream for killing him, then he started calling me out for being a hacker, and saying all of that shit about me. Of course I do have only 200 hours on the account I am currently playing on, but my other account, my main one, recently got a VAC in L4D2, which I do not play on anymore, and that one had 3,900 hours on TeamFortress 2, just to make things clear. I have watched Rob's videos for a long time, but I had no idea he would act this way. I figured he would give me a chance to explain before he called me out like that. I was going to say another thing on the stream, but then, I had found out my messages were not sending in. Sadly.

Weapon drops in game get created into scrap bit nobody uses it for creating hats because it's cheaper to buy them outright. More ref in backpacks sitting around doing nothing means higher key prices to compensate
