Is there any software that allows me to copy my save from a game cartridge to the sd card?

If I do this cfw shit for my 3ds will I be able to just pop in a normal game and not have any issues with it? Logically I shouldn't but I don't want to put in a game and end up brick in with my shit luck.

So I patched the TWL and don't have any errors appear while booting. Instead I just get a flash of white and the screen is black until I manually shut it down.

There's really not a good difference between them. The main advantage of ARN is that it's easy to set up, though if you've gotten your OTP without bricking Cakes shouldn't be too hard for you. If you rename Decrypt9.bin on the SD from arm9payload or whatever to something else, it's basically impossible for a user to brick the console without fucking around with SD card contents. I'm all in favor of parts doing only one thing and being really good at it. It means that I can easily swap out parts that don't work in specific circumstances, that my applications are part of a toolkit and I pick the right one for a given job. The problem with rxtools, ARN and SystemD is that they get too big and have too much going on, and removing them becomes impossible.

Could also happen, though getting rid of every early version of ARN wouldn't be easy, since I'm sure a few people in the community have archives of every public CFW and homebrew file to date. If they didn't want people to use the old versions, they'd need to make new versions improve significantly, and probably close the source of the code. Not sure if that's possible, since I don't know the GPL inside and out, or if Rei even uses it.

This is where you're right. Cakes will still exist and I will still use it rxtools might show up to A9LH in the future, I think ReiNand is getting support soon. Making ARN paid will probably kill it, since paying for CFW when there are free options available is idiotic considering the target audience is pirates.

Yea. It's part of the reason I wish most flavors of Linux would die off and BSD would rise to prominece. BSDs tend to actually follows the Unix philosophy, and their coding isn't a hackjob mess. They audit more frequently, refuse to implement hackjob solutions if real solutions have even a hint of existing, and following the philosophy keeps the parts small and modular. Of course, the way Linux adoption has been going, it'll be several years before a BSD desktop is a viable option for most people. I'd be using BSD over Linux RIGHT NOW if the software support problem wasn't 20 times as bad on BSD.

It won't work with a "standard" a9lh 9.2 SysNAND setup. Most setups use a higher firmware.bin than that, meaning Gateway can't exploit it to launch it. You'd need to manually grab a CFW with a 9.2 firmware.bin. AuReiNand has it as a potential option via some clusterfuck of option files (I think installeda9lh without updatedsysnand and then holding a key to trigger SysNAND boot?). Cakes can also use it, no need for anything special but Cakes can only use one firmware.bin, so you can't load a 9.6/10.2 firmware.bin for 9.3+ EmuNAND support unless you manually fuck around on the card every time you want to switch between Gateway and not-Gateway.

Also keep in mind that Gateway doesn't have a FIRM writing prevention patch. Any system update through Gateway on SysNAND may uninstall a9lh at best and hardbrick beyond the reach of a9lh at worst.
