This is the only Souls game that feels like an adventure. If you go to a place you WILL be at that place, you can´t teleport awayuntil you get the lord vessel. This gives the game a lot of tension, like being trapped on Blighttown or The Depths
The subsequent games abandoned this and gave you warp from the start, making them much more forgiving experiences

Horizon zero dawn is easily one of the most mediocre games I've ever played. The only thing it has going for it is it has the most grahics. The open world in this game has to be one of the most empty lifeless open worlds in recent memory. Yeah it's real pretty but theres nothing in it, theres nothing interesting to see.
It's level up, weapon and ammo systems are all super clunky and poorly thought out. The fact that you need three different versions of the same weapon for each weapon to fire nine types of ammo is mind bogglingly stupid.
All of the missions boil down to "follow this line". The story is nothing to write home about, it's incrediblely predictable and unoriginal. This game does the impossible by makeing giant robot dinosaurs boring The designs for the robot animals and the overall art design of the game is so BORING.
Nils is the only likable character in the entire game. He's the only character in the game that is haveing a good time. Also he's the only NPC that I remember the name of, which is a bad sign for the rest of the cast.
Horizon zero dawn is not a bad game, it's worst than that it's a boring game. To me being super mediocre is actually much worse than something being outright bad. At least a bad game can be interesting in it's badness. A boring game can only ever be boring.

I'm not going to comment on the writing, but the points I quoted were ones that kept me from enjoying the game. Aside from cool shit like the dinosaurs and the living towers, it felt like every other open world game in existence.And for the record, I felt largely the same way about Zelda: Breath of the Wild as well.

lately all i've felt with regards to videogames (and even discussing them) is that it's a huge waste of time and it's just keeping me from doing other things. some years ago, i had burnout after finishing college and getting a good job, and i started playing a lot of dota and nothing else. before then i felt this way too. the last gen i really enjoyed was the ps2's.
anyway, now that i'm feeling like this again, i can't really justify the time to play games anymore. do you ever feel like this? if not, do you ever think about what you should be doing with your time when playing games? i know i used to, in these last couple of years i was depressed playing dota every day

Truly addicted? When I first got XBOX LIVE in 2005. First time I played a game online. Halo 2. I neglected all my friends and stopped leaving the house. I dabbled in MMOs a couple times but my PC was shitty and even though I for some reason am drawn to the idea of MMOs they're always so fucking boring to play.

Before that it was Persona 4 Golden, I played it almost non stop for a week and it made me ill, I was skipping meals and stopped bathing.

Why didn't anyone make a real successor to Guild Wars 1? This shit was my favorite game growing up. Arena net fucked up and made guild wars 2 feature-bloated garbage but why didn't anyone else try to make a game like GW1?

I tried, man. Out of 9 playable ones nothing really fits her. A cross between Bruja, Toreador, Ventrue and a Malkavian, i guess.
Now that the dust has settled can we all agree that Persona 5 was a huge let down?

I guess Persona 3 and 4 really set the bar high and Atlus just struggled to make Persona 5 remotely interesting.
