This really hasn't aged too well, has it? DOOM will always be a timeless classic. Wolfenstein 3D? Not so timeless.
The gameplay is different and is at a much faster pace than Doom, it's just difficult to appreciate it because the level design doesn't get good until the third episode. People should be playing Spear of Destiny instead because the level design is consistently good throughout that game.
Just because Doom is a perfect game that immediately achieved all of the basic principles for a good FPS it doesn't mean that Wolf3D is a bad game. It's a little confusing at times, but it's still enjoyable once you get the hang of it. It is a classic and definitely a important piece of FPS history.

You can get Brutal Wolfenstein 3D.
It is awesome.
Why is Swadia so utter shit?
I don't get it.
Because, due to their central position, they're more likely to find themselves fighting a war on multiple fronts. Poor success in war disgruntles the nobles, and Harlaus tries to rectify the situation by throwing feasts, which in turn keeps Swadian armies off the field, giving them an even harder time holding on to their territory.
Does any mod let me utterly raze towns and cities to the ground so that they disappear from the game? I want to exterminate the sandroaches
Does someone has that HL2 youtube review?

Think of a game, any game at all.
That game is now a Devil May Cry game (without changing the gameplay). What changes?

I think I already know why this game isn't as much fun as med2. Shorter, railroaded campaigns, and not punishing player for using autoresolve, and skill tree. you can finish a campaign in a weekend while my poland campaign in Stainless steel lasts for few weeks still ongoing. replenishment mechanic benefit a lot to that because you can replenish all your army back to full strength as long as you don't lose whole regiment. it also reduces worth of individual soldier. In med 2 you can only retrain units by training more soldiers of same type. Also limiting recruitment of the same unit prevents doomstacks and forces variety.
Whole campaign can be won using auto-resole. I usually play around 3-6 battles per campaign because why to make a hassle of playing battle yourself when you have auto-resolve insta-win. In Med2 I already fouht myself countless battles. There should be some debuffs for player while auto resolving to actually have some reason to play battles.
Skill tree is just misunderstanding. Majority of skills are shared between all characters so I usually end up taking same stuff for everyone.
>muh variety and different factions
differences are mainly in look, campaign mechanics and having access to different units. while I'll give you first two, unit wise it just means that some stuff is stronger and some weaker, and around that you must base your playstyle.
So bretonnia has god-tier cavalry? Just like poland in med2
dwarves have no cavalry and base their armies around infantry and artillery? scotland

I find it more fun then med 2, the different in the way the units look its a big deal for me. Fantasy is just cool.
>>389835036
There's too much story and too many restrictions in Warhammer based on what race you're playing, and I don't like that.
>>389836092
I know what you are talking about. I like how in med 2 or even empire I see buildings getting bigger. Too bad that since Rome 2 there is just a symbol
A new Toejam and Earl game is overdue
nice spongebob and patrick clone
I'm pretty sure there's one on the way
but we're getting one sometime this year
Why the actual fuck are the pikmin games so underated?
>>389203136
each game released at a bad time with shit marketing
The consoles they've launched on were some of Nintendo's lowest-selling hardware, except for the 3DS which got some spin-off shit by another dev. It's also a fairly niche genre you can't just immediately dive into and do well, unlike say Splatoon or whatever.
>>389203136
1 and 2 were released on the Gamecube which sold like shit. 3 was delayed for years until it launched on the flop of a console that was the Wii U. I'm glad Miyamoto still keeps the series alive or it would have died years ago.
Guys, Minecraft has given us such great things! We judge it too hard...
Hey /v/ did any of yall play this?
I'm trying to reconnect with some nogs who used to play, I member years ago we had a few lads from here play albeit like 6-8 years ago
the games been updated with more vehicles n shit.
wanna know if any of yall still play/would try it

>>389834969
I'd play, just gotta reinstall it
>>389834969
It's actually still going strong because it's like a dumbed down Minecraft, kids love it and more and more kids become interested in it because of the PDP clones
>final boss fight is boring
>final boss is a QTE
>>389202962
>final boss is a bunch of potheads with garden tools, their leader who can use a spell to stunlock you, and five H.R. Giger wannabes
>>389202962
Final boss fight isn't even a fight. It's you sitting down with the main antagonist and having a conversation with some tea.
I give up, I honestly went into this game with a really open mind, and I didn't think negatively about the fact that /v/ hails it as one of the best game ever. But I simply can't finish this thing, gameplay is insufferably bad and the level design is terrible, every level is basically a tiny ass room with 2 corridors, everything feels extremely cluttered, the stealth elements are super basic and the action ones are terrible.
I'm also just not feeling the plot, and I feel the pacing is terrible. Why exactly is this considered a good game?
Did you forget to play Metal Gear Solid before you started playing Metal Gear Solid 2?
>>389202858
The fact that you gotta activate the 'terminals' in every room to then have access to your radar is what pisses me off the most.
I still finished it more than 5 times though, it plays more like a puzzle than 3, 4 or 5. It's fast paced and you don't have to crawl your way through half the map in order to avoid detection.
It also has great aesthetics and a few memorable boss fights. I love the sterile feel from the ambients, and the drastic theme shift around the end. It's good enough to warrant a playthrough.
