Which is certainly not true, but the ridiculous bullshit he stated is why you don't see it - devs fool around with this shit all the time, and tend to follow KISS for the final result(because who the fuck would even want menu items glittering and throwing particle effects and all sorts of shit? I personally think what made it successful was the continuous add ons to a bare game. They knew what they were doing
They were making millions everyday but adding small, cheap addons that were just enough to keep people interested.
I personally think this is why Destiny was successful.
