Holy shit DRUMPF BTFO

>people assume this is a parody of trump instead of baby Jack Donaghy
Shame.
>>80487373
From what I have seen, I just assumed it was just a baby that just so happens to act like a boss, but now that you mention it, it does have that Jack vibe.
The movie is actually about his brother who imagines that his brother baby is symbolically leader to the family.

not going to read the whole book, sorry
anyone seen it?
just got back from the cinema. I don't think spoilers are necessary since we've all seen the 1991 animated and it's basically the same story.
anyhow, the movie. yeah, it was good. HOWEVER, Emma Watson was awful. her acting, especially in the first half like when she "sang" Little Town, which is the start of the movie after the prologue, was so torturous. it was the most excruciating film going experiences I've ever had. it was so bad I just started laughing, it's like Tommy Wisseu all over again. well, maybe not that bad, but you know. she did get bearable as the movie went along. but that Little Town part was a nightmare. holy fucking shit.
the cinematography wasn't very inspired. ever seen a Marvel movie? it's literally like that, bland as hell. the animated version had much more interesting scene compositions and lighting. and the CGI background, particularly the climax of the Little Town scene when Belle ran atop the mountain, looks so fake. you can just tell they shot it in a green screen room. the effects for Lemiere and co. were good though. the castle and the wolves look like a 2012 video game.
and lastly, the enchantress who cursed Beast. they did a minor change in the live action movie by making her a much more active participant than the original animated version. she unnecessarily appears right at the end literally waiting for Belle to say "I love you" before resurrecting Beast back as well as lifting the curse. as if it wasn't already obvious that she loves him. witch/enchantress whatever just took me out of the movie. I don't think they really needed her beyond the prologue.

everything else beyond those is good. Luke Evans was fucking great. he and Josh Gad(Lefou) stole the show imo. Lefou's gay moment is literally just a 5 second comedy gag right at the end. but Gaston was the shit. Beast was eh. I'm indifferent probably because he's a Hulk-tier CGI monster. the songs were great as well, Gaston and Lefou's Gaston song was really good. seriously, can't praise those two enough. Gandalf and Thompson were good with their roles. Lemiere was spot on. his "Be Our Guest" bit was pretty good, though too many close ups for my taste. almost choked up when they became inanimate even though I'm fully aware that it's not going to last.
and the story, like I said, pretty much the same as the '91 movie. a tale as old as time. I think they add the part about Belle's mother. didn't really care about that since she never really was angsting about it. I give it a 6/10.
forgot to say Emma did look really lovely, especially when she wore the iconic yellow dancing dress. I actually missed that scene because fuck, my bladder was about to burst. and I've already seen that shit in the '91 movie anyway.
You forgot how we see Beasts parents and how it implies that him and Belle are related.
>The hell you will. He's got a two-day head-start on you, which is more than he needs. Brody's got friends in every town and village from here to the Sudan. He speaks a dozen languages, knows every local custom. He'll blend in. Disappear. You'll never see him again. With any luck, he's got the Grail already.

How will this movie affect infinity war
Disney is gonna keep getting your sheckels.
>>80486648
It won't.
>>80486648
Well, it gave us Black Panther and Spider-Man
and wrecked friendships and divided the team. They'll probably try learning to work together again in the Infinity War.
It is said they eat the dead.
>>80486434
I thank the lord for his advice, though I do not recall hearing any exploits of his: apart from killing his brothers!
Antonio bandarez was about as arabic as I am in eaters of the dead

And? he was still good in the role, more believable than Keanu playing a Brit in Dracula. Can't believe how hard this movie flopped.
what is this expression trying to convey?
YOU
That Elle is special.
That expression is the only thing that makes you think Elle is anything unique compared to the other girls in the the room.
>>80486338
He knows there's something different about her, he doesn't know what, he just knows he's feeling a different vibe as opposed to all the other girls.
She's young, very young, she's naive, she's pure, she's completely natural.
It's like seeing a prime ribbed steak as opposed to just a packaged supermarket steak. All throughout the movie people can see right through her disguise of playing it off as a mature, older woman. She's just a girl, and Los Angeles salivates on preying upon her young flesh and mind.
Real lolita shit.

Anyone want to talk about this?
A lot of people seem to dislike it. I think the frogs are good. John C Reilly/Melora Walters story is best then Whiz Kid Donnie Smith.
>>80485988
I liked Tom Cruise's the best desu
I understand when people say this movie is melodramatic and shit, but to me it's just pure raw emotional force, and i don't care if it's melodrama. It just really spoke to me. Especially when Quiz Kid Donnie Smith said that he has a lot of love to give, but he just doesn't have anyone to give it to.
>>80486034
PTAs movies are best at their most melodramatic. That's why the audit scene and I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE are so good. I hope his 50s fashion movie is full of out of control emotions.
What's his endgame?
When he dies he will take his place in the stars.
I like him on QI
>>80485912
To overshadow all work he parodies.
>>80485940
Which constellation would it be for Al?
Underwhelming, less would have been better/scarier as the special effects just took me out.
Great concept though, similar movies?
Only the last monster appearance looked like shit.
>>80485895
It's not a horror, it's a thriller. It's probably my favorite movie of all time but at no point was I ever scared or felt like it was a horror despite what people say
>>80485936
They show too much throughout, enough to be reminded it's fake.
