Nexo is awesome but likewise hampered by expense. They're not willing to go over 100.00$ and make something like a proper castle, with the closest to that ideal being to combine the Fortrex with Merlok's Tower to make something that looks kind of like the older castle sets, but won't fit easily on a baseplate. Maybe the "castle" that's coming out next wave functions the same way and they're going to release another set later that functions as its second missing half?

Today I talked with an Lego Store manager and I wnded up asking him if he knows anything about a space theme or original theme and he told me that next year is coming an new space thme and CCBS.I was surprised,he told me also that the space theme will be like the one with martians(Mars Mission) and the CCBS theme will be like Bionicle/Hero Factory style.
One more important thing,he told me that Nexo Knights might have one more wave in 2018.
Take it with a grain of salt till we get closer to 2018.

I think what happened was Lego got gunshy about having a realistic gun in a non-licensed set so they switched it out at the last second, but they already produced some, so it ended up on the bley market.

The biggest issue I have with recent sets is the "mass market appeal" they have, like all those differently colored filler bricks and color-coded parts to make building easier but probably became one of the reasons alternative builds on the box don't exist anymore (along with moronic parents who complained that there weren't instructions for them) or the ridiculous amount of stud shooters and launchers on everything.

Just spent the better part of an hour removing the printing from Nurse Harley's legs.

Bought some Legos today.

Bought four of the new blind bag mini-figures, which netted me Butterfly Girl, Circus Strongman, Mustachio Corn Suit guy, and the mystery figure Highwayman.

Cornguy's mustache face is going on one of my space "Bad Cop" bodies to add to my mustache cop legion of legos. Will probably give Butterfly Girl adult legs (not a fan of kid Lego figures) and Circus Strongman is going into my reject box of minifigures I don't like.

Also picked up the Deadshot/Harley Quinn/Batman set, which my local Wal-Mart suddenly had back in stock after it sold out a couple of months back. Deadshot and Nu52 Harley are pretty fun and the Batman figure is decent enough for me to keep from the reject box via branding it Flashpoint Thomas Wayne Batman.

I made a carriage today

Horses are hitched by a clip plate so they can turn side to side. The step folds up while the carriage is in use, and the curtain gives a bit of privacy. Trunk in the back opens to hold any small odds and ends that don't go on the roof.

Reposting because I accidentally posted before in dead thread.

So apparently Bricks and Minifigs is a thing. I thought it was just a dumb little made-to-fail Lego seller in my town. But I guess it's a chain? I finally went in and found myself building some minifigs.

From left to right:

Terrence Lightfoot - trusty ex-fireman mechanic. Likes his coffee.

Komissar Temnoshapka - Mid-boss level villain. Carries a standard issue space pistol. Cranky.

Royce - Original Red of my Lego super sentai team, in his original all-red gear and racing safety helmet. Shown with his original action-hero gun, prior to being upgraded when he founded the sentai group. Royce doesn't actually race cars, he just wears a racing helmet for protection. He needs to get a visor.

Delta Customs over on Instagram has provided some information for the upcoming LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Justice League sets which include rumored set names and their potential price points.

Battle of Atlantis (76085) – $19.99
Justice League Knightcrawler (76086) – $49.99
Justice League Flying Fox (76087) – $129.99

The most interesting set here is the Flying Fox which was seen in the Wonder Woman Justice League trailer. It is an aerial vehicle that is able to carry the Batmobile so hopefully we’ll see both vehicles in the set, especially at that higher price point.

The place has been there for... I don't know, a year? I took off work early because I was sick and driving along feeling sorry for myself and drove by and turned around and went in.

I expected it to be like one of those kinda depressing comic shops: The kind that has a sparsely-stocked shelf of new comics you don't want, and then a shelf of older comics at laughable prices, and then boxes upon boxes of old comics nobody would ever want.

But it was actually more like a cool comic shop. They don't actually stock stuff you can get at any major store, just some older sets that might be popular. But they have wide, shallow table/boxes of minifig parts, and bricks, and a table just for Bonkle bits.

They also have glass displays with existing minifigs at different prices. I'm not good enough to tell if they were fair prices, but they looked about right to me.

Interestingly, they also have a display of little baggies from Brick Warriors. (They had the centaur body someone posted the other day.)

Then there was a big box of bulk Duplo bricks. I didn't really take the time to look at those. I didn't even look at the pick-a-brick boxes much, just the minifigs.

I used to work Wal*Mart customer service back in the day and we were forbidden to match online ads without an override. I can't quite recall how they had us explain it, something about how online supply logistics were different or some shit like that. Especially if the customer had a printout from Amazon. Whenever I see something marked up at TRU I just show an employee a competitor's price and they price match. Even if it's a Website price for a big box store chain. One time a manager said that web prices didn't count. I said really? I can order on the web, ship to store for free, and pay at the store once it comes in. The store I used to work (which thank god was NOT a TRU) the store manager wouldn't let cashiers or customer service perform most ad matches to online stores or within a certain price difference without approval. There's two funny things. First is he okayed about 99% of price changes anyway because he didn't want customer complaints to regional on his record, he had ambitions! This is also why he made it hard to match ad because he also wanted profits up. His other brilliant scheme was basically to not hire department managers and make managers from other departments handle multiple departments (for the same pay, naturally) and cashiers to stock. Second humorous thing is he would complain why everyone kept calling for management.

The guy was an idiot so naturally he eventually got the promotion he craved. By that time though I'd already ditched the place because it was a nightmare.
