Mask of Light, Legends of Metru Nui and Web of Shadows are pretty good for what they are (that is a movie about a Lego toyline), even though their animation hasn't aged that well. But the story is fine, the characters are likeable, the message is there, and the music is just WONDERFUL.

Legend Reborn, on the other hand, is utter shit, don't watch it unless you want something to laugh at.

Not really, but I admire the effort they put into realizing them. The CGI quality, at times shitty animation and some questionable character designs do bring them down, they really tried to create a visually creative and captivating world, and the music outshines what you'd hear in most big budget event films nowadays.

But the writing is messy, full of plot holes, and there's too many characters who don't serve a real purpose. The movies occupy that awkward area where you don't fully understand what's going on unless you read up on the lore, but they also contradict it in some respects. So they're meant for fans who have a decent understanding of the lore but aren't hardcore into it.

This is only true for the Miramax trilogy. The Legend Reborn on the other hand feels like it was made with the mindset that "this will be a bargain bin toy movie". It's like a watered down Saturday morning cartoon, not a memorable one at that.

Speak for yourself, my first contact with Bionicle was the Mask of Light movie, I think I was 6 back then, and I fully understood what was going on and immediately fell in love with the story. The movie made pretty clear who the Toa, Matoran and Makuta were, you didn't need to read up any lore.

Mask of Light yes, cause it was basic as fuck, but as they movies went and compressed longer storylines into 70 minutes, it was easier to get lost. Of course I'm speaking for myself, but things like where Metru Nui was in relation to Mata Nui, why Makuta was said to protect the Matoran, where people like Roodaka or Sidorak came from, how the Matoran forgot their memories, what the hell protodermis was, details like these used to leave me confused before I read up on the external story sources.

The basic plots and messages of the movies were still understandable, but the questions kept piling up.

For example I can use my moc recreation, I tried to make it as "stable build" as possible but there are still some problems if you wanted it as a set:
Illegal uses:
-the horns, they are not attached properly and they constantly frictions with the mask.
-some pieces under the decoration feet on the legs are in friction with them
Design fails:
-arms are not fixed to the main structure and a kid would easily detach them by just playing
-upper leg's skeleton is just a 1x4 lift arm at some point, so the piece have too much weight on it
-1x2 rubber pieces used to attach the boobs are too loose (I could replace them but it's so funny to have bouncing bionicles tits)
-hand are not designed for holding objects unlike all ccbs figures

Alright, it's me again, I've been working on my articulated Mata a lot so to start things off here is Tahu again, with his regular red hau so he fits in with the rest.
I don't think I want to change anything about him now, save for that I'm waiting for an order with more black t-pieces to arive to replace the light grey ones, and some red ball sockets to see if they fit better, if they don't I'll keep his wrists and ankles black.

Also the sword clips to his hip when not in use and he can sort of hold it in his hands without the use of pins or axles but it's not really stable. To properly hold it you need a 2-long liftarm and replace it with the red bush in the middle of the handle, and then shove a pin/axle/rod through the 2 long liftarm on his hand and it to connect the two. Nuva mod is easy, you just put one silver sword on either hip, looks pretty baller imho, I'll try and make some pics of the ones I have in their Nuva forms as well.

Onua's got a new torso build, and I got his claws entirely in black now as they're supposed to be. He has pins on the palms of his claws so his two chainsaw thingamajigs can clip onto them in Nuva form, and when not in use they can clip to his back.

New is Kopaka, nearly finished save for a couple of system bits and bobs i'm waiting on to decorate so parts of him he's basically done. Though I am thinking of getting some more 2-axles in white.
The sword attaches to his lower back and swings around so it looks like it sits higher on his hip than Tahu, and in Nuva form it's replaced with his two-sided ice swords/skates slung over his back.

Next up is Gali, her basic design is finished, and now I'm just waiting on all the parts on the right colours to arrive, which is a bunch, right now her limbs are predominately blue and I want to replace all of it with light-blue instead to fit her colour scheme better.
Her two hooks attach to her left hip with a 3 long blue pin, though it's a bit tight so I might replace it with a light grey or tan one, it doesn't fit her colour scheme so I also might not...

And finaly a very early wip of Pohatu, basically everything is on the wrong colour that's not the classic pieces you'd use to make him the normal way save for his hands and shoulders.
Somehow the black chest and shoulder armor combined with his boulder gives him a rugby/football player look. and his expanded legs make him the tallest of the six.
And before you start shouting at me. Yes, his torso isn't in the proper orientation, I was originaly thinking of building something from scratch but everything a tried sucked and looked off, so I jsut decided to leave him like this for now and later on build him the right way.
Though I never cared much for his kick function so for display I'll switch it out for the wrong way again. Because I'm basicaly the antichrist or whatever.

If I recall, it's canon that Kulta got bigger and badder when he got MoCr, but it wasn't elaborate if he looked exactly like that.

In my headcanon he does, though, and I even came up with reason why he has some of Ekimu's color. MoCr is his mask, and he used it long enough to leave his mark on it, which then bled onto Kulta.

Hammer flush is why he has a hammer, which was G2's Kohli, skeletal arm is because of his ability of being connected to the spirit realm (aka the mask powers from Inika and Mahri form) and that takes a toll on him by decaying his body. Same goes for the trans neon green (not yellow, jesus people check your eyes). I used only things related to Matoro and merged it into a single form. Think before you ask.
