It makes me feel bad for armies that don't have snipers though. A lot of the major ones have at least one squad somewhere, but the forces that have more limited ranges don't have that options.

Orks and Tyranids in particular stand out. Tyranids I feel could be fixed by simply making some weapon behave as a sniper for that purpose, such as those weird Homing Spike cannons that Hive Guard have.

Orks though are probably gonna be stuck with melee to try and pick off characters unless they introduce Grot Snipers or something.

Well, I won't say the change to vehicles is entirely bad.

I will say it was a lazy fix however as Toughness and Wounds are nothing that I will every associate with Vehicles or Walkers.

Getting rid of super-heavy units and having them degrade in capability also kind of sucks as only a few factions can actually spam repair their large units unless they plan to add that ability for all factions.

Might also be open to cheese in some ways now that I think about it.

I think people are really underestimating how big of a deal not having the damage table around is.

Yeah, Lascannons will still whittle down the woudns quickly enough, but you won't get situations where one shot manages to blow it up, or just leaves it immobilized or missing its gun.

At worst, you'll be dealing with it moving more slowly and possibly getting a drop in BS once it's at half wounds, but at that point it should have done some work.

Really? That seems like one of the more believable instances of a transport being truly dedicated to it's unit. They aren't a squad in an army riding something drawn from the motor pool, they are a tribal war-band and their trukk is literally theirs, paid for with their teef. Another mob climbing on board is practically declaring their intention to loot it.
