How are [math]0\cdot\infty[/math] and [math]1^\infty[/math] "indeterminate forms", given that [math]0+0+0...=0[/math] and [math]1*1*1...=1[/math]?
[math]0[/math] is the identity element of addition, and no matter how many you add together, it will still be [math]0[/math]. The same goes for [math]1[/math] and multiplication. What gives?
Because there are sequences that do not converge to 0 or 1. Algebraic rules do not apply here.
>>8024686
Because arithmetic does not apply to infinity
>>8024686
you are right, actually. if you define arithmetic with infinity, it works like that
however, 0*inf and 1^inf usually don't mean arithmetic. they usually mean babby calculus student tried plug and chug and got shit, and now he has to fix it
see >>8024689 for example, talking about convergence when it has nothing to do here

Human like intelligence isn't the end result of natural selection, other animals are just fine doing what they do.
Natural selection equipped humans to understand and comprehend medium objects moving at medium speeds.
Our natural ability is to avoid being eaten by predatory animals on the African plains.
We were not equipped with the ability to understand things like quantum physics and rocket engine design, those things are a fortuitous happenstance of our larger brain and physical attributes that are tailored to facilitate building things with our hands.

There's a scientific proved reason to have a gf or being married, like some psychological, health or any effect treated as a benefit for a man? Or it's better to be a MGTOW for a STEM's dude (and have casual sex if you're alpha enough to achieved)?
Yes, and this is common knowledge.
- Serotonin/reward chems are up.
- Social survival goes up.
- Sometimes economic survival goes up.

Alright, but how hard is to get a woman that can really give you all that and in an acceptable form?
The modern woman is a pain in the ass sometimes, so you can waste time finding a woman to settle down instead of approach that time in STEM and be functional and independent (specially if you are oriented to research).

yes weak men crave the validation of their existence and get depressed if they fail to feel relevant, responsible.
The best way for a man to cater his need for approval is to serve some woman (and some of her children) through emotional&financial support.
Men are pleased to contribute to someone else life, to support their family.
Why women are a good way to feel relevant? Because women love to be provided for and each woman will always find a man ready to please her.
THe problem for men is that they are disposable in the eyes of each woman, since all men wish to serve the few women who talk to them.
Men must thus invent several ways to please women, invention and creativity which strengthen their feeling of being worthy, relevant, in tough with reality.
Men are too impotent to find other way to feel real.
Once that the a woman replaces a man by another provider, the man gets very upset and depressed.
THis leads men to think that they are better than women, stronger, smarter and that they must built a life outside women. Some men manage to indeed built an empire, but they will always loos it for some women.
Women give meaning to men and betas, no matter how successful outside women, will always give up everything for some relationship with some woman who claim to fancy them.
Does orgasming take anything out of a woman? How does it affect her body other than the pleasure in the brain?

Yeah but can they just lay in bed all day having one orgasm after another with no repercussions?
>>8020951
well eventually you'd start encountering side effects like dehydration or chafing from the sheer amount of rubbing you're doing but realistically the worst you could do is make her a bit sore afterwards.
ok, so I started to watch those nicola tesla BS magic videos from those new age youtube retards.
But then I got an idea, what if someone made a sort of modem but for energy it receives from traditional energy sources and transmit it to other devices like wi fi internet.
what if this modem sent energy wireless to some small receptor that power your normal electronics?
>transmit it to other devices like wi fi internet
>some small receptor
the only retard here, is you
>>8027862
I'm basically talking about making a wifi device that transmit energy wireless.

Would it be possible to make a camera that takes pictures mechanically? Like with gears and shit? Trying to think of a way to make a camera that can operate on Venus for an extended period of time.
Bro bro
Cameras originally worked by mechanically opening and shutting (quickly) an opening which had a piece of material that had chemicals on it. There was no electricity/battery.
>>8021142
>operate on Venus for an extended period of time
Why would a mechanical camera operate longer?
>>8021156
I want to take pictures mechanically without using film. Film cannot exist at venusian temperatures.
>>8021160
Semiconductors stop working at venusian temperatures. Mechanical systems can operate at higher than venusian temperatures. For examples of this see jet engines. As long as shit remains in the same shape mechanical systems work.
if only it was this easy

Please help with a gas pipeline problem we are having at my company. There is something stuck in a pipeline but the operators have no clue where. My question is, can I determine where the obstruction is in the system by recording the rise in pressure over time from a fixed measurement point upstream of the block? We can monitor static pressure, differential pressure, flow rate in mcf/d, temp and total volume sent past the sales meter. Ideally I would like to bring an equation to my masters to get a few crumbs from the table. Thanks.

try ideal gas law PV=nRT
if you know P, n and T, you can find V, which basically gives you the length of tube you need.
If this doesn't work as a first approximation, you'll need to use van der waals equation I guess
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Van_der_Waals_equation
same thing, find V.

Hey
I want to replace oil
Volume = 1500ml
I can just get 250ml out at once then i have to refill it with fresh oil... the oil mixes 100%
So:
Step 1:
1500 old oil -> 250 ml out and 250ml fresh in
Step 2:
1250 old oil 250ml fresh oil
When i let 250ml out and refill with fresh oil:
1040 old oil 460ml new oil....
So how many times i have to repeat that to get 95% new oil ??
hang on op
imma try to work it out
