Remember the days of old
The days of old when wapanese was wordfiltered to the word we use today, weeaboo
It is time to enact more wordfilters, boardwide
"smh", "fam" and "tbh" (along with "tbqh") is annoying as shit and should be wordfiltered. To what? I don't know. If I were Peter G Mootleman, I would know, but I'm not.
Stop the madness, start the fun
smh ---> tbh
tbh ---> fam
fam ---> smh
epic lulz will be had
>>292363
anons use it because its fun normie tbh

OP here, I second this motion
When did tripfags stop being the majority?
later
later
When the site stopped being a somethingawful circlejerk
So how do you fags pronounce it? Is it May-may, meem, mame, or me-me?
mene
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejSRqO74Lik
>>291958
It's meem. This is the only acceptable answer. If you hear someone pronounce it differently and they're not joking or being ironic, punch them in the face.
I have next to zero experience with Reddit, but as I understand it, it was at one point pretty freewheeling as far as topics go, much like 4chan. So why is it that site is much more able to attract business? Obviously, Reddit was set up from the start to be a for profit venture, while 4chan was not. But with the ownership change and talk of the site's long term sustainability and how that may affect moderation policy going forward, this topic should be explored.
So all the start up/venture guys, what is 4chan doing wrong? What can/should it be doing that would interfere least with the board's "culture"?
(I'm asking this as someone who had used 4chan's advertising services extremely briefly right after 4chan's first revival, and also had a role in getting a retail partner to become a long term 4chan advertiser.)
Watch my films.
Mostly its history and reputation. 4chan is pre-net 2.0, predating YouTube, existing alongside sites like Newgrounds and Homestar Runner. It was also a niche site specifically for anime despite the presence of all the random elements. Combined with the anonymous culture, the bad press from all the raid shit, bigotry etc. It's not a place advertisers want to go. In fact even though Reddit is a lot more advertiser friendly a lot of content on the site is getting purged because it turns advertisers off, like how r/cuckservative, r/jailbait and r/fatpeoplehate got too popular and started fucking up the site's image.
It also has to do with size. Reddit is a huge social media site. 4chan is a relatively tiny hobbyist discussion site. Some would argue it's not worth advertising on, which is why for a while J-List was the only advertisement seen here, know your target audience.
4chan shouldn't be operated as a profit focused business. We should be happy to make enough to pay for server costs and development.
Can we rename /soc/ to "White Knight Central"?
Seriously that whole board makes me ashamed to be male
it's full of thirsty faggots trying to contactfag these ugly/average girls.
>>291461
>Can we rename /soc/ to "White Knight Central"?
Make this thread again right before April Fools Day.
>>291461
What the fuck. Literally nobody is going to get hooked up through /soc/, and I can think of nothing bad that would happen if we nuked the board. It seems to just attract snapchat using normies and other undesirables.
Each IP should be unable to post on 4chan until its visited the site on at least 15 different days in a 30 day period, and default back to being unable to post if it goes two weeks without posting once.
>>291133
That would be horrid for people with dynamic IPs and a lot of other technical stuff could go wrong that i'm probably just not aware of
>>291146
The biggest problem with it is that the idea is inherently stupid from beginning to end.
>>291133
It's already downright impossible to report or post on 4chan as it is. It takes like some kind of bot to get passed the captcha system.
Without looking them up, describe all 17 global rules.
1. No posts that are illegal
2. You have to be 18
3. Keep /b/ shit (furries, lolis, etc.) in /b/. Keep /pol/ (racism, politics) in /pol/.
That's all the ones I remember with their numbers correct. Others:
(4) Keep ponies in MLP
(5) Quality of posts; no shitposting
(6) Don't complain about 4chan's policies
(7) No indecipherable text
(8) Porn belongs on red boards. No porn on blue boards.
(9) No calls to raid
(10) No doxxing (maybe part of (9)?)
That's all I've got.
>>290387
1. no illegal shit
2. no under age b&
3. no dubs, racist, crap, etc. outside of /b/
4. no raids
5. blue board=sfw
6. quality is important.
7. false reporting is bad mmmkay
8. no complaining about 4chan rules or mods
9. don't avoid bans
10. no spam
11. no advertising
12.no impersonating of 4chan staff
13. no sigs or avis
14. no bots
15. no ponies (or related) outside /mlp/
16. requests go to /r/
17. no uploads with additional shit attached.
>>290387
In no particular order:
no illegal shit
no kids
no shitposting (trolling, racism, txtspk, furry, loli, shota, guro, probably forgetting parts of this laundry list)
"quality of posts"
blue boards are worksafe
no advertising
no spamming/flooding
no scrapers, bots, or proxies
no dox/raids
no report abuse
no ban evasion
no complaining about mods/4chan
no signatures/avatars
no ponies
no hidden files
That's what I remember, although to be honest I looked at the list earlier today, so it's more fresh in my mind. We do have too many rules.
Has a trial board ever been found "not successful" and axed?

Thank you based mods for finally putting a stop to this cringeworthy tumblr shipping cancer called the 4chan ball.
Daily reminder to do your part and report these threads on site when board tourists come and spam them on your boards.
>>289905
I agree, but the butthurt tumblrtards who lurk here won't like what you've just said
>tfw always report 4chan ball threads
>tfw based mods delete them
I'm thinking of going around from board to board, using "ctrl + f" to find each thread and reporting it.
they didn't stop anything

It seems I'm a bit lost, I can't find the philosophical board anymore...
Has anyone seen it lately?
I kinda miss it.
History
Theology
Philosophy
>/htp/ what could go wrong?__?
>>289035
Not as much demand for Theology/Philosophy compared to History. I suppose they could be combined as /hum/ - Humanities
Secrets of 4chan thread.
anyone?
Other then /qa/, there is another secret board with even less users.
The board was never announced and has been kept hidden since January 1st.
Only a handful of users know the board name, I being one of them; however a stickied thread on the secret board made me swear to keep it a secret.
>>80602
What is the board
Also with the Thailandese character set available on some cell phones, you can do this: ดีีีีีีีีีีีีีีีีีีีีีีีีีี่่่่ีีีีุุุ่่่่่่่่่ัััุุุุุุุุุุุุุุุุุุ
>>80602
That is clearly bullshit, but now I'm curious.
Someone write a script that tries every board combination from /aa/ to /zz/. If there's a secret board besides /qa/, we will know.
ITT: We add or edit only one thing per post.

What OC have you contributed to 4chin over the years? Post it here.
it's not very good
I can't it's all pony performance art.
