Education system thread. Tell us about education systems in your countries and whether / why they suck.
Poland:
>Over time shifted from a reasonable system to giving out good grades for free
>With each year there are more and more demanding and impudent parents that refuse to see faults in their children, instead blaming the school or the teacher
>These parents are voters, so politics cater to them by lowering standards and making it harder to fail students
>It gets to the point where literal psychos and special needs children are admitted to normal schools because muh child is perfect and deserves to get an A
>Schoolmasters are mostly dug in administration that's dependent on the ministries and deflects all the responsibility and blame onto teachers
>Failing the student is actually so hard and troublesome that teachers stopped doing that and just pass them through the education system having given up on teaching them
>The highest salary you can get as a teacher is lower than an entry-level job for the same education, even though you need to take additional classes to become a teacher
>Because of that the only people who become teachers either do it out of calling or they have no other choice
>Still get shit on for having an allegedly easy job with a lot of free time
>Latest education reform doesn't change any of this, it's just administrative changes on top of meaningless curriculum changes
At least I won't have replacements in the Polish job market for the next 20 years.

Here it's not as deeply bad, I'd say the problem is more on a social level (at least for classes until ~12 years old).
There are two main problems, the first is the parents straight up abandoning their children to the school system, or just abandoning them altogether (my mother teaches 5 years old, and the absenteeism rate is through the roof due to "mom/dad didn't wake up)
The second problem is the previous government taking actions to remove "ghettos of good pupils". Obviously, parents involved in their children's educations want them to be among the best pupils, so classes with Latin or German often end up where all the best are, leaving the other classes average or at a low level. So bilingual German classes were removed (dunno if it was really acted upon, though) to prevent concentrations of good pupils, and to try to spread them evenly. Because, as everyone knows, 2 good children in a class of 30 average to low are enough to push it to the top, and such a strategy will never backfire.
Obviously, there's also a huge problem with children barely speaking french or having development retards due to their parents being immigrants or gypsies, but that's on a level on which public education can't really act.
