The Supreme Court's landmark ruling in Loving v. Virginia declared unconstitutional a Virginia law prohibiting mixed-race marriage. The ruling also legalized interracial marriage in every state.

Bernard Cohen and Phillip Hirschkop, two young ACLU lawyers at the time, took the case of the Lovings — a black and Native American woman named Mildred and Richard Loving, her white husband — all the way to the High Court.

Phil Hirschkop was just three years out of law school when he defended the Loving case before the Supreme Court.

1. Cohen and Hirschkop asked the Court to look closely at whether the Virginia law violated the equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. If the Framers had intended to exclude anti-miscegenation status in the Fourteenth Amendment, which assures equal protection under the law, they argued that it would have been easy for them to write a phrase excluding interracial marriage, but they didn't Cohen argued:

"The language was broad, the language was sweeping. The language meant to include equal protection for Negroes that was at the very heart of it and that equal protection included the right to marry as any other human being had the right to marry subject to only the same limitations."

It is true there are no good Jews, partly because of their Zionist beliefs and partly their genetics. We're bored. While I believe many on /pol/ are genuine in their beliefs and convictions, I also believe they engage in radical or extreme right-wing discourse because they're bored. Indeed, modern life is boring. There isn't much to look forward to. There is no more mystery in life. All has been reduced to materialism. There is no world beyond that in which we unfortunately find ourselves. Moreover, the world has been explored. Even if we wanted to explore our countries or the world, we lack the ability to do so, as the government places limitations on our behavior. I don't want to sound cringe, but the 'Born too late to explore the world...' strikes home.

America prior to the Industrialization was a vast, virgin land, free and open to exploration. Have you read John Steinbeck? American literature isn't very notable, I think, but Steinbeck captured America and what it was. A restless American could pack his things, and head out West, perhaps to California. Or perhaps the South. He might spot a newly built railroad or small town, in which he can find refuge from the sweltering, Southern sun. A man just had his belief in God, his instincts, and ambition to make a better life for himself. That, it seems, has disappeared completely.

The only thing Americans have now is nihilism, anxiety, pessimism, self-hatred, and an overbearing government, which restricts not only our behavior, but our thoughts. We have become mechanized, and imprisoned in our day-to-day routines, that serve no higher purpose. This produces boredom. We accept it, and there is nothing we can do. This is life now.

Hello /pol/, i have a story to tell you

When i was 16 i met a girl, a special girl, the most beautiful and charismatic girl i had ever seen in my entire life.
Im not going to lie, i was too much of a pussy to ever talk to her until we were both 17.
I had gotten /fit/ and my social autism was almost gone, so i talked to her. Turned our we had alot in common. I fell in love with this woman badly, and after about a year i found out she felt the same. We were together for 5 years before i bought a diamond ring and proposed to her, tis was he happiest moment of my life, but it was not to last.
4 and a half years later we had 3 kids and a house, life was going well and everything was perfect. Then she started acting differently, more hostile and aggressive. After a few months it was clear she didnt want to be with me anymore.
All of this culminated in her divorcing me and filing a restraint order and getting full custody of the kids, me not being able to visit them for 8 years and me having to pay child support.
2 years after we separated she married a sandnigger called Ahmed. Then after the 8 years of me not being able to see my kids, she got murdered by this sandnigger, the sandnigger killed himself as well and now i have custody of my kids.

Life works its way out in strange ways /pol/
