Welp, bought some tools and a new shifter along with a sprocket/chain combo. Improvised shifter dug a hole into boot over a year of riding, I supposed I'll send that in for repairs once it thaws.

I specifically expected that result so I watched videos of how the hell a folding shifter is supposed to work, and unless there's something pushing it down, (foot can't do this accidentally unless I'm pulling some yoga magic) a spring should keep it in working position. Worst case scenario the spring fails and I ride it like I rode 100km with a bent shifter once.

the bike shop i used to work at have one of those, if you take out the back seats you can easily fit 2 normal or 3 small bikes/scooters in it, and even have space for 2 or 3 people in the front. The bikes will stay protected from the elements like that, too, better than a pickup or a trailer. And you can use it as a mobile workshop, too, if you modify it enough. There's tons of smaller vans like that from different manufacturers, but I like the VW the best.

Honestly, if I had the money, I'd buy one of them immediately.

I got my transit for 6k in February, it's a base model but only had 118k on it. I I've put 50k on it so far. Pretty sure there's more out there in better shape for 6k now. New wheels because the wheels on it where frankenwheels with warp 9 rims laced to hubs inappropriate for this application and the guy used a funky spacer setup to get it to work.

Old rims were bent as well.

Could have lived with the spacers and had the rims straightened but I'd rather spend the $1000 and get all new wheels, bearings, correctly fitting and matched hubs, properly laced and trued to put my new tires on.

I also have a set of Avon trailriders sitting at my brothers house to throw on these wheels.

Ordered a 47t and a 50t rear sprocket to switch out and find what i like. Probably going to order a new 14t front sprocket to go along with my new 13t to make quick swaps between gearing possible.

I also pulled all the reflectors and mounts off. Two front reflector mount brackets I modified to use as mounting brackets for my new front turn signals.

I let mine warm for around a minute or so as I finish getting my gear and myself sorted, and checking the mail if I haven't that day. Then I ride it gently through the neighborhood staying below 3k RPM and quite light on the throttle. Once it indicates that the coolant is up to temp, I ride like a reasonable person until I figure the oil is to-temp. After that, it's whatever I feel like.

I found a semi-local shop, about an hour away. The owner has an FZ600 and a Radian, and he confirmed that I need an 86-89 FZ600 exhaust to fit on the Radian.

I have been able to find one on ebay, but it has rust and a hole in it. That's not acceptable.
I'm waiting until tomorrow to ask a couple scrapyards have an exhaust lying around. I've pinned down two potential donor bikes - $1000 FZ6 that could be parted out. But I'm not going to buy a parts bike for the one part I want (the exhaust) for more than $500. I might be able to yank off the rear end, or at least the rear wheel so I can put a disc brake on the back. But I really only want the exhaust.

I also don't want to part out an entire bike just to make up for the one part I wanted.
