As for being loud, its a 125 with stock exhaust. It sounds about the same as my little brothers supermoto.

When I was 17, had my very first bike. 3 weeks into riding it, came off and snapped my femur in half.

19 I came off again, cracked my ribs and got an infection from the road rash on my legs.

20 I got rear ended by a car and did a little damage to my back.

Not had an accident since - I figured out that everyone was a shit driver, and that I wasn't as good as what I thought.

Course, back then you just ticked a box when getting your car license and they put the bike on there too. So I learnt to ride with my mates who were all just as dumb. A lot of bad habits - rider training is good.

Where I live insurance can be bought in two tiers. One pays damages only for the other party in an accident, while being cheaper. And the other covers damages to your bike aswell.

On moderately cold days I wear gauntlet gloves that I picked up at a bike show. Keeps the draft from going up my sleeves. Also wear them in the rain.

What's the best way to ride fast in shitty conditions?

I ride a CBR600RR and when I go out riding with others in some gravel coated hills I get incredibly frustrated that they can ride their big sport tourers easily around corners with huge gravel tracks whereas if I come round anywhere near their speed my rear starts dancing.

I have a supermoto so I'm used to my rear dancing, but are there some techniques I could practise so I'm not only fast on the track but also fast on less than ideal road?

As an ausfag, our healthcare system is fucking fantastic. I hardly ever pay a cent to see a doctor, and I can pick and choose as much as I want. The other week I had a scare with my eye and wanted to see an optometrist to get it checked out. I had an appointment within the hour on a saturday, got my eyes completely examined for around 40 minutes and didn't pay a cent at the end of it.

Ignore every option aside from Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. Melbourne is hipster central but apparently has a great nightlife and overall culture to it. Sydney has more business and upstarting celebs. Perth has everyone next to the beach (and I live way out in the hills, a beach trip is only a 45ish minute drive tops), but we're really isolated so while you might find some things that are normally expensive elsewhere for cheap here, you'll also find a lot of cheap things going expensive as fuck here. Also the nightlife is crap and the music scene is only just starting to spawn. It has a really unique atmosphere to it though.
