I didn't see the truck backing off, I saw him re-evaluating his choice. There wasn't enough/much room in the first spot he was trying to jump into so he backed off to find another one. As soon as he did, the predictable happened. He still had his blinker on for crying out loud.

It's been adjusted now. Trying to play around with different cameras as I get too much wind vibrations at highway speeds. Although I noticed my whole helmet is moving with bumps at highway speeds so the mount may not be the issue.

I either mount on the handlebar or helmet and it still looks like I'm speeding. I show vids to my wife and she starts yelling at me for going so fast.It really does distort how fast you are going.

I asked because I figured all motorcyclists regularly go that fast.
I have gone 144mph before, but I was 18, in a convertible Mustang, and stupid. I wasn't scared at all until I saw another vehicle. Luckily I learned to be a safe driver without ever hurting anyone.

Anyway what you said there, is road biking really that much easier then normal biking? I ride the trails in the river valley for 6-8 hours every saturday. That's about as much time I can put into it anymore. Get's a bit harder this time of year, have to swap out my tires and avoid any of the forks that lead to a jump. Never owned a road bike, how do they feel compared to a normal one? I've got a Rocky Mountain Element that's over a decade old now. Replaced bits a parts over the years but I still fucking love it.

It depends on what your definition for 'easy' is.

If you consider it competitive success, road biking is unquestionably harder than mountain biking, simply because more people do it. The more people do a sport, the higher the probability that you will find yourself competing against an outlier gifted with a natural aptitude for the sport.

If you consider it the base level of technical skill to undertake the activity safely, mountain biking is harder than road biking.

If you consider it the effort required over a given duration, it's impossible to say which is easier. On a road bike for an hour, you can turn the pedals as gently as you like and avoid breaking a sweat, or you could be doing a HIIT session and ready to throw up your lunch by the end - being able to chose your effort level like that is what makes it a great training tool.
