What, in your opinion, is the best looking car under $50-60k? My choice is a used F-Type, although the C7 is pretty compelling as well.

Nigga the F type R isn't under 50k

How hard is it to have modest flames/backfire come from your cars exhaust?
Is it harder to do on a N/A motor?
I've heard it can be as simple as replacing your cat with a test pipe.
Anyone tried this?
my old r33 gtst had a turbo back exhaust, intake and a decat pipe / test pipe. A factor which both turbo and non turbo can help for flames is if its running rich. The skyline would pop crackle flames out everytime you were really hammering it then stopped for a corner for example and the flame would just linger out the tip and slowly disperse
Never change, /o/. Never change
you need a direct exhaust without silencer or catalytic converter, it happens when you change gear after running at full throttle because the air flow is largely reduced while injectors (or the carburetor) needs a bit more time to adjust the fuel flow and the unburnt part goes directly to the exhaust where the heat ignite it
should I? me and my friend have 5k lined up for a track car. http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/5553674557.html

If you don't mind repairing half the underside and swapping 90% of the suspension sure, but it's a better bet to buy a stock one, or one that's already been track-prepared.

its from 88 so im sure with a little tlc it should last me a bit. thanks mann
Looks like I might end up buying this old shitbox. My 2003 Altima got totaled like 3 weeks ago from a fallen tree and I cashed out my insurance check (full coverage valued my car @$4.5k burgerbucks.)
1995 Acura Legend with ~100k miles, first car was a '88 Legend and it was nice; not very fast but that wasn't a concern. I liked the interior of my '88 Legend and the fact that I only had to do basic maintenance on it and the only repair I needed to for it was the master cylinder and brake pads, which is not bad for a car that had 220k miles
How important is it to get the EXACT engine code complaint spark plug for your engine?
Mechanic friend-of-a-friend sourced 4 plugs based just off my model and engine size.
Internet reveals that the plug model number is meant for the 3 engine codes that aren't mine, my one engine code is annoying and different, and the plugs are 4x the price online. I don't want to fit these, but it's confusing that a professional mechanic would have tried to fit them himself in my place...
I tried to find the exact specifications online to compare manually but its a shitshow.
>>15010781
as long as the length and the mounting type (thread + conical/flat flange) matches, you're ok
>>15010835
Gonna compare them.
I suspected as much, but trying to balance up being mugged off for some "premium" product, vs. putting the wrong thing in and being all "hurr why doesn't it werk".
>>15010781
what engine is it, what are the other engines?
So what do I do in this situation
>car wrecked by my brother in March 2014 2 weeks after my mom bought the car for me
>can't find someone willing to work on it without totalling it
>sister finds someone who does show cars and comes highly recommended
>works out that the insurance will work with him on it without totalling it
>insurance pays the cost up front
>it's still in the shop today after almost 2 years
What do? Over this time we usually call once a month or so and ask about it and he always gives some long story about what he's done and what needs done.
It can't possibly take this long right?
At the end last summer all that needed dome was paint. Literally everything was on just needed painted. Then he gives us a call at the end of winter and said he's excited to get back working on it because its warmer now.
Wtf do I do? I really want my car but I don't want to be a dick and get the law involved or something because I still need it done well.
>2 years
The fuck? I'd have gone ape after a fucking month. Less, even, depending on agreements.
Sorry, I don't know about your countries law possibilities here.
But you should be able to just go and get it and your insurance should have an interest that their money has been used properly. Talk to them, too, then.
>>15010629
talk to your insurance, they're the ones paying for this shit
that said, he probably could have done your car in a month but he's dragging it on because he wants that insurance money. I had something similar happen when the upstairs porch collapsed on our house and we had a "family """friend"""" do the work to put up a new one. should have been done in 5 days, took 3 weeks because the family friend was milking the job.
>>15010655
I can't just go get it though, since I need the job done.
I could get it but then I'd have to pay more. Money to get it painted by someone else.
