Do we really consider activism sites a "news source"? This is no different than that other thread that posted a link to the Verizon site where they publish their own news.

What's next? Linking to a Kickstarter page that has an update in the news section?

>A Vatican spokesman said: 'The Pope has desired to make a gesture of welcome regarding refugees, accompanying on his plane to Rome three families of refugees from Syria, 12 people in all, including six children.'

>The Vatican said Pope Francis wanted to 'make a gesture of welcome' to the three families who arrived in the camp before the new EU deal with Turkey was implemented on March 20.

>It is understood that paperwork for the 12 people, including six children, was arranged in advance.

>The Vatican will take responsibility for supporting the families. But the Catholic Sant'Egidio community will take care of getting them settled initially.

>While on Lesbos, Pope Francis blasted people smugglers and arms traffickers who he blamed for worsening the current refugee crisis in Europe.

>Addressing a large group of asylum seekers in a reception camp on the Greek island of Lesbos, Pope Francis said migrants were not numbers but people with 'faces, names and individual stories' who were prayed upon by 'unscrupulous thugs'.

Andrew-Basiago.jpg

Adding to the madness of the 2016 US presidential election is American lawyer Andrew Basiago. He claims to have traveled through time nearly all his life, and is pretty sure that he’s going to become “either president or vice president” between 2016 and 2028. Polling data is obviously of little use to this guy.

Basiago, a Washington-based attorney, first started talking about his experience with time travel in 2004, with Project Pegasus – a top secret organisation studying the effects of time travel and teleportation on children. So between 1968 and 1972, when Basiago was a young boy of seven, he claims to have participated in several experiments that transported him through time, space, and even parallel universes. His mission, supposedly, was to provide the US President at the time with important information about past and future events.

Now, Basiago is using the ‘knowledge’ gained over years of time travel to further his political ambitions – he’s running for president this year as an independent candidate, and is fairly confident he’s going to win. “I have prior knowledge that not only will I run for president, but that during one of the elections – which would have to be between 2016 and 2028, because I’m not running past that – I’m either elected president or vice president,” he explained, confidently.

Basiago’s greatest qualification to hold office, of course, is his first-hand information of past and future events. Basiago claims to have gone back in time to 1863 and witnessed Abraham Lincoln’s speech at Gettysburg. He’s also been to the future – the year 2054 – so he as an idea of the pitfalls that a president should be avoiding.

Having traveled widely in time, Basiago has held conversations with President Bush, President Clinton, and President Obama decades before they were elected to office, notifying them in advance of their presidencies. More importantly, he has been to Mars in 1981, which makes for unrivaled experience in foreign relations.

But he’s had enough of all the secrecy now. In the all-new version of Project Pegasus that he’s leading himself, Basiago is campaigning for the US government to publicly disclose all the advances made in teleportation technology. He’s calling for truth, reform, and innovation, which would benefit humanity as a whole and make transportation across the Earth and beyond instantaneous as well as environment friendly.

“Primarily, my goal has been to bring forth the teleportation technology that Project Pegasus developed forward, and utilize it in the civilian sector,” he said. “Our secret time-travel capability is informing things like the process by which we select the president. The cover-up has gone on for too long.”

Basiago has lashed out at President Obama in particular, accusing him of lying and betrayal. He claims that as a teenager, Obama served as a fellow ‘chrononaut’ on the Mars mission in the ’80s, but has disclosed nothing about it to the American public. Basiago calls this “literally lying, to deny the involvement of a set of Americans who put their lives at risk at a very young age, doing what their country asked of them.” This, he believes, is telling of the “calculating, shallow opportunism” of the nation’s current leadership.
>>
Not wanting to keep things under wraps anymore, Basiago has offered a rudimentary explanation of teleportation technology himself. He claims that the devices they use have “quantum access capability” and can be divided into two categories – one that enables physical teleportation to the past or future, and another that creates a hologram to serve as a looking-glass into a specific time or place without actually being there. Physical teleportation, he claims, was developed using the papers left behind by Nikola Tesla, after his death in 1943. ‘Chronovision’, on the other hand, was invented by two Vatican musicologists and later passed on to the US government by Rome.

These technologies have apparently been around for a long time, but according to Basiago, US scientists advised the government to hide them from the public because they could potentially erase entire industries and jobs that are focused around existing transportation methods. But Basiago disagrees. “Knowing about these things will allow the public to understand and participate in the advancement of new technologies,” he said.

So there you have it, if neither Hillary nor Trump seem like US President material to you, or if you simply always wanted to travel through time and space, Andrew Basiago is your man.

>At least eight people believed to be members of the same family were found shot to death execution-style in four homes in Pike County, Ohio, and a suspect or suspects may still be at large, officials said on Friday.

>The victims included seven adults and one juvenile. All were shot in the head, the Pike County Sheriff and the Ohio attorney general told a news conference. There had been earlier reports that five adults and two juveniles had been found dead.

>"We have many horrific crime scenes," Pike County Sheriff Charles Reader said.

>An infant less than a week old, a six-month-old and a three-year-old survived the shootings, they said.

>Reader said anyone involved in the shootings should be considered armed and extremely dangerous. No arrests have been made. “I am still actively looking for a shooter," he said.

>Some of the victims appeared to have been murdered in bed, including the mother of the infant who survived, Attorney General Mike DeWine said. He said that none of the deaths had resulted from suicide.

>“This is a horrible tragedy that has occurred here in Pike County. Each one of the victims appears to have been executed. Each one of the victims appears to be shot in the head," he said.

Always an interesting show. When I was 18-20 and working a late night pizza delivery job I would listen to him all the time. Some nights he was really a jerk to the callers, telling them they were fucking up, that they were wasting time calling if they didn't take his advice.

Other nights he was a genuine help to people. Some 19 year old kid with confidence issues literally opened up and sounded like an entirely new person after a few minutes.

And who doesn't like to talk about some form of sex?

You're right; it's a shame. Nuclear safety, disarmament, and cleanup are all important issues. Every nuclear nation should be held to account for environmental injustice, global insecurity, and proliferation.

Still, when I see this, it makes me proud to be on the right side of history at least somewhere.

Then again, earthquakes happen more there, and I don't know if a quake like this would be a big deal for them or not.

Following his arrest yesterday, a North Carolina man sought to pay his bail with counterfeit currency, according to cops.

Jarious Tremayne Mock, 20, was approached by cops after officers heard him yell, “Fuck the police” as he departed a Greensboro nightspot.

While citing Mock on a drunk and disorderly count, police ran a warrants check and realized that he had failed to appear in court in connection with a prior marijuana possession case.

So Mock, pictured above, was arrested and transported to the Guilford County lockup, where jailers informed him that he could immediately bail himself out of custody by posting $200.

Mock accepted the offer and directed officers to remove cash from his wallet. It was then that investigators realized that Mock was offering a counterfeit $100 bill. A subsequent check of his wallet turned up a phony $20 bill as well.

The fake currency was seized by police, who slapped Mock with an additional charge of possession of a counterfeit instrument or currency. As a result of the new count, Mock’s bail was increased to $2000.

Mock is not listed on the current jail roster, so it appears that he was able to cobble together enough authentic currency to secure his release earlier today.

Mock is pictured below in a Facebook photo showing him enjoying the taste of a Benjamin while flashing a gaudy watch.

He must have been high while he was shaving.

A Florida man was arrested on Tuesday for possessing marijuana with the intent to sell.

Kevin Gibson, 58, had the drug on him one night before the national day connected with smoking weed — 4/20.

The man appears in a Miami-Dade County mugshot only on the right side of his face shaven, the other side sporting an unkept beard.

This isn’t the first time Gibson has been arrested. In 2011, he was caught with cocaine and arrested for intent to sell, but that time he was sporting a full beard.

He is being held in a Miami jail on $8,000 bond.
