heavy coverage in the city centre and surround inner urban area. You can hop off the trains catch the trams to keep going, switch from one tram to another, etc
>Cons
-Quite a few stops are often only 100 meters apart
-In older streets that have one lane on either side of the tram tracks the councils often allow curb side parking - meaning people park in that one lane, meaning all traffic is forced on the tram tracks meaning all traffic grinds to a halt!
-The lightrail extensions to Bundoorah and Vermont South are useless, they take too long, go too far out, and carry too few people to be worthwhile for the investment. And once they turn onto road operation they slow right down anyway.
-So many routes in the North going to/from the city but nothing going across them :\

Depends on what I'm doing if it's a commute then it's like 4-5 miles with some hills 17-25 on flats 10-16 on hills but if I'm doing a long ride then it's more like 18mph (the trail near me is almost perfectly flat for like40 miles one way.

Same guy, I ride a Schwinn continental with shamjno brakes and treko ergo brakes but the rest is stock

Where = different places, prefer mountains. I have some nice HC climbs around my area which are fun.
Speed = Average for the whole ride is generally around 30-35 depending on how much of it is spent climbing.
What = Aluminum frame, but upgraded to ultegra, really light wheelset, etc.

Rides are generally around 100-120km and now that I have classes I can only realistically get out twice a week. During summer usually 3 or 4 times a week.

i am not looking for a headlight, i already got a headlamp for night time use, i am specifically looking for turning signal indicators.

although i do want to get a better headlamp that i could stick to my helmet and possibly could be USB rechargeable as opposed to three AAA cells.

Why do people put so much emphasis on side lights? Does it really help with anything? Anytime you come across traffic perpendicularly, it's either they yield to you or you yield to them. By the time anyone really sees the side lights, it's too late and collision is imminent.

Don't make them like that anymore. There were some innovative cast magnesium designs, but those have become irrelevant with advances in hydroforming.

Cheap and light, the default frame material for a modern bike. Aluminum suffers from fatigue, but an aluminum frame will last the designed lifetime of the product, usually for a few decades. That makes them lack the timelessness and permanence of other materials and makes them part of a consumer culture, but most people will be willing to buy a new frame in a few decades. Cheap ones have a reputation of having a poor ride. Aluminum is easy to hydroform though, and like carbon can be designed to have various ride characteristics, and even some degree of aerodynamics. The problem is expensive aluminum frames often exceed the cost of cheap carbon frames.

Not any cheaper than aluminum, in some cases as expensive as carbon. They rust. Some people claim you can repair them, but it's almost always just cheaper to replace. Some examples have lasted many decades, if not over a century, if in fact you feel compelled to hand it down to your grand children as an heirloom, assuming that they want your cruddy old bicycle, it it hasn't been destroyed in a crash between now and then. Lauded for ride quality, the better carbon and titanium frames at least match it. The biggest advantage is the durability and the fact that it is old technology, meaning you can readily buy it on the second hand market. It's also has lots of tradition, since bicycles have been made with steel for much longer than any other material. You can increase the performance to be as light as heavy aluminum but price increases astronomically and durability plummets. It is difficult to separate vertical compliance from lateral stiffness using round steel tubes, and the availability of actual aerodynamic steel tubes is next to none.

That being said, second hand steel is good enough for most people, and it's been good enough for many many decades.

I bought a hitch mounted platform rack, like the one in your OP, and I like it. The downside of a cargo tray, is that you don't have the supports for the tires, which makes the bikes more likely to tip over, unless you're just laying them on top of one another.

I didn't go for a Yakima, or Thule, because they are honestly far too expensive. I did get a pretty good one off of Amazon, that had good reviews, and didn't cost an arm and a leg. It was only about $200.

Cyclists always have a right to the road, regardless of if you can see the bike lane lines or not. Could also say snow on the lines, or dirt, or that they've faded.

In certain parts of the world railroad track maintenance fails to clear the extensinve falling leaves from the rail. As trains pass over them it crushes them creating a thin, yet very slippery layer upon the railhead. This makes operations difficult and delays and cancellations iminent.

The obvious objective of this decidedly British advert is to advocate cycling instead of taking the train. It's dumb.

It's protesting against civil involvement in community maintenance.
A lot of neighbourhoods expect residents to maintain their own streets: pulling weeds out of cracks, sweeping debris off the road, et cetera.

The given text is saying "fuck that, it's the city's job."

Because passengers are terrified of visible propellers, and the vast majority of planes that would benefit from these are for carrying passengers who could just opt for an airline that uses non-terrifying planes.
