>"Armed with a piano and a vagina, Tori Amos has been the most prominent Kate Bush clone in recent history. She has been ripping off of Kate since she was in her mother’s womb. Her music sounds exactly like Kate Bush in every way, including the topics. Kate wrote songs about sin, sinsuality, masturbation, homosexuality (male and female), homophobia, sexuality in general, 9/11, road trips across America, prostitution, pornography, rape, miscarriage, Christianity, Native American spirituality and history, America and its people, masochism, misogyny, being a mom, George Bush, Lucifer, Datura, betrayal, sleeping with butterflies, powerful orange knickers, being a MILF, asking zebras for sweaters, driving to Ireland, bouncing off clouds, beekeeping, death, the rebirth of the sun, religious intolerance, war, her complex relationship with her father, and things that take months to decipher way before "Little Shitquakes" stained the history of music.
Tori dyes her hair red to look different, but she is a natural brunette. JUST LIKE KATE BUSH. She probably mimics Kate’s bush too, but Kate’s is obviously more majestic and stylish."
wtf I hate Tori Amos now
>"Debut" was released in the same year as "The Red Shoes", which is already enough proof that she ripped off of Kate Bush. Björk’s music is eccentric avant-garde pop/electronic/alternative. This is basically Kate Bush minus the piano. Björk is second behind Tori Amos as the most prominent Kate Bush clone, and rightfully so.
>Not to mention that she appeared in a picture with the ginger. Of course, this makes her a Tori ripoff, which makes her a Kate ripoff.

wish i knew man. I absolutely loved a lot of dex's stuff when it first came out but at this point doing the whole seperate the art from the artist thing is kind a big hurdle for me in his case, that fuckin video won't ever leave my mind whenever i hear his music... that said his hooks just go incredibly hard imo

What are ya'll talking about? Context?
What are some other maximilist albums?
Albums with tons of effects and different instruments, every song is this huge thing
Pet Sounds, MBDTF, Sgt Pepper, pic related, etc

Look into music produced by Phil Spector.
Merriweather Post Pavilion, Black Foliage, Boces
Hounds of Love, The Dreaming
Why is it that the vinyl records I get sometimes are a different pitch than what they sound like on digital formats? Not that my record player is great, but it does more often than not play my records at the correct pitch, and aside from that I've also heard many of the problem records on a different turntable than mind and they still sound higher pitched.
The new Suicide - s/t reissue does this for me and so does the newer pressing of Anthem of the Sun

BUMP ROCK
Space issues, you can only fit so much music on one disc.
>>68610686
So it's like a normal thing? And with any one pressing would that apply to every copy of the album?
Why do female "musicians" do this to get attention?
well, the fact that you made this thread is evidence that it's working
if it ain't broke, don't fix it

Why do "thread-creators" do this to get attention?

>Joanna Newsom: I loved the latest Bjork album, I'm excited about the idea of Grimes. I haven't wrapped my head around the record. I find her so compelling and so unlike anybody else and so incredibly talented, skilled, and fun. I love her. I met her in LA a few months ago, she told me something along the lines of, "I grew up listening to your music". I will say, it made me feel really old for about five minutes, then it made me feel really happy. I was like well, I guess I'm old now, but that's okay because this awesome and amazing young musician likes my music and said that it was special to her when she was younger, so that's great.

>Nieve said, “You’ve spoken before about how women’s voices are held to a standard of prettiness, and how you were able to overcome that in part by listening to women who differed from the popular norm and sang in a more idiosyncratic style. I think that’s such an encouraging thing for young female songwriters to learn, and to have artists like yourself to look up to is so important. Who would have been most influential on you, and which artists do you currently admire in this regard?”

>I started to think of it as waveforms. The violin is not an uglier sound than the flute, it’s just a jagged waveform instead of a smooth waveform. There are certain things that, musically, I prefer over others: I like music that is in tune, I prefer when singers are in tune, I prefer when I’m in tune. In terms of people today, as I said, I’m a little out of the loop, but I have noticed I’m really excited by the way that Grimes frames herself, and seems utterly disinterested in her own beauty, which is really exciting to me. Sometimes it’s useful for an idea, and then other times it’s not useful for an idea, and she seems unaffected either way. I like her music as well, and I like what she says.
