Is there any other musician still alive more based?

I really don't like how he's handling this situation. It feels like he's acting like he's above it.

Over the years I've noticed a lot of people complaining more and more about tinnitus - it legit sounds awful and I don't want it
holy fuck @ having tinnititus like g damn, no thanks
Tinnitituiys avoidance thread?
>never go to shows, concerts, raves, clubs or anything with huge speakers and humans who might drunkenly yell into my delicate eardrums
>never go to protests where marginalized voices might kill my eardrums
>never go outside
>no more phone calls, text only
>volume caps following EU guidelines
>sleep with ear protectors incase disgruntled tinnicucks attempt to forcibly make me join their accursed ranks
Going to book myself in with an Otolaryngologist ASAP
>just go to festivals bro you wont get tinnicucked
L M a o nigga nice banter
FUCKING L O L @ risking it ALL to go to some shitty muddy sweaty wed grimy outhouse infested std ridden prolehole
>pain and white noise
>BUT I GOT TO SEE MCRIDE LIVE !
i've got super sensitive hearing resulting from messing with a car radio as a kid & having the thing suddenly blast out at full into my tiny child ears (which were next to the speaker). there's certain high frequencies which cause me actual physical distress & hearing a pen drop in the neighbor's office or hearing full conversations from across the house or whatever, while sometimes not being able to hear someone speaking clearly right in front of me is weird shit.
closest i came to tinnitus was seeing mbv without the ear plugs handed out on the door. was in a vacuum of ringing for two days after.
more people get it as a side-effect from certain medications than loud music.
just a few weeks of using tylenol, hydrocodone w/ acetaminophen etc will give you temporary tinnitis. the thing is, people who rely on such drugs tend to take them habitually and are too stupid to realize that's what's causing it until it's too late.
also: "le classic rocker with tinnitis meme" - don't think those guys popped tylenol to treat it, thus making the problem worse?
protip: merzbow doesn't even have tinnitis
Today is the 20th anniversary of the release of the album Soundtracks For The Blind by Swans.
What's your opinion on the album?
What's your favorite song from it?
What's your favorite line?
Any memorable experiences with it?
Thom
if your favorite song isn't helpless child you're wrong

Still debating whether this or You're Living All Over Me is my favorite album. I like that this album takes a bunch of different turns with every song, that leaves room for new ideas to grow and be expanded on.
My favorite song is Helpless Child, like most people. The first disc is spectacular as a whole, but Helpless Child is the one that gets the album going.
I can't say I have a favorite line, but the "Everyone knows that you are fucked up" line is the one that always gets me. It's heart breaking. Another one is the "legally blind" part of "How They Suffer", that's another heart breaking moment.
I would say my most memorable experience is listening to this album for the first time and getting the idea into my head some songs through the second disc to try and listen to this album with my eyes closed. I did, and song that followed right after doing that was Hypogirl. I had the shit scared out of me and decided to keep my eyes open for the rest of the album.
At first, I wasn't sure what to think about the album. It was so strange and bizarre, although I had only just started exploring new kinds of music. If it's your first time listening to this album, but your first time listening to Swans, I recommend you listen to their entire discography leading up to this album, as it will make a lot more sense.
Is there a more boring and dull acclaimed band than Beach House? If yes I want to hear some, I like quite few dream pop bands, yet their music ic so incredibly bland it's offensive.

Starting off with my favorite post-punk album:

XTC are such an underrated band. They've been posted here a bit lately, but I've barely seen them mentioned before then.
What's the best XTC album? I think it's this, which is also their most Post-Punk
Anyone listened to this? It's incredible
