Need help expanding my boring, entry level taste. Anything else you guys can suggest based on my favourite albums here? I've listened to a lot of the /mu/core and it's not my bag. Anything closer to these albums?

ITT: God-tier albums that are at the top of their respective genres that get overlooked because of what their bands later become.
I'll start: Forget what U2 later became, War is easily one of the best post-punk albums ever recorded, easily up there with the best of New Order or The Smiths.
go back to /r/music

Yeah. Because there's nothing to say because he's right.

If Oasis were a one hit wonder, how come 2.5 million people tried to get tickets to their concert at Knebworth House in 1996?
>>68823158
Because normies love one hit wonders, especially in England since so little music comes out of that filthy country, so they have to go insane for any band they can.
who thinks their a one hit wonder?
they are a hits band for sure, but not a one hit wonder.
they got a hand full of songs that everyone LOVES then the rest of the albums no one gives ashit about
Don't look back in anger
wonderwall
morning glory
songbird
everyone wants to go see them play those songs.
>>68823183
Yes, but Oasis had twenty six Top 40 hits in the UK.

How do you go from a /mu/tant to a normie?, speaking about music taste
Trick question.
CAUSE YOU KNOW I'M ALL ABOUT THAT ____
Stop caring about /mu/ and associating yourself with /mu/, and viewing /mu/ as anything other than a board on 4chan for discussing music.
Tedy Andreas just dropped a new song holy shit.

I'll start with Fleetwood vs just about every folk-tinged indie rock band with an eclectic discography.
>tfw your album is so strong that you didn't even think to release "Landslide" as a single.
I'm looking at YOU, neutral milk hotel...
I never "got" Fleetwood Mac as a kid, now I unironically consider them to be one of the top 5 bands of all times. Rumours is just about as perfect of an album as anyone has ever released.
well what's so great about them
Classic Dad Rock coming through!
Naw fleetwood mac is hot garbage and rumors is probaly the most overrated album of all time
I don't like what The Needle Drop is becoming. He used to just state his opinions respectfully and give fair reviews, but now he's not so responsible. Anthony seems to be going for a sort of H3H3/FilthyFrank kind of aesthetic here with his 'thatistheplan' channel but in reality he's just becoming more of a Leafyishere sort of character because of it. I mean...look at these videos he's put out recently.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZDXEpp9jIE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25hf3pZcyz0
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEtPZxhkWEk
Not to mention the God-awful "MEME REVIEW" series... He's going downhill, fast, and it's spilling over into TheNeedleDrop. I mean, the man made an hour-long video negatively reviewing Corey Feldman's (admittedly terrible album) Angelic 2 tha Core. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3E0kq9YkjA
That is the length of a short children's movie. He spend 50 minutes just exaggerating how bad the album was. I mean, yeah, it was really bad, I'll admit that, but leave the man alone for fuck's sake. He has embarrassed himself far enough; Twitter wouldn't leave him alone and he became somewhat of a laughing stock. He's obviously in some sort of odd crisis. He's not well. Was an hour-long, negative review really necessary?
Mind you, that was the longest review he's done up to this point. He used to actively avoid giving bad albums the time of day ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45xt7d6L538 ) because he knew that's what people wanted. I always thought that was really cool.
Now he has an entire series (NOT GOOD) dedicated to dragging bad albums. Look at this, he even "reviewed" a fucking Trisha Paytas record ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4XyD506RrY ). Old NeedleDrop wouldn't have even bothered. Too easy. What's more, he's started reviewing flat pop records (ZAYN, Lady Gaga (twice), Beyonce (twice), Willow Smith, etc) which sort of goes against everything TND is.
So now that The Needle Drop is in the trash, who is "our" next "guy?"
>>68822551
you are a 16 year old trying to be a tripfag
fuck off
the fact you took the time to write all this drivel is pathetic
>>68822580
I'm sorry, you're right. This is a shitty post. I'll delete it immediately.

You first. Once More Round the Sun was disappointing shit
A lot of people on here don't believe that Animal Collective is accessible to normies, well I'm here to change that. I put the song "Brother Sport" over the intro for Phil of The Future, a normie show, and it fits PERFECTLY. Check it out everyone!
