>listening to dadrock
UUGH, why would you even deal with someone like that?
Does my music automatically become dadrock if i become a dad?
I know right? My racist bigoted white male dad listens to that shit. I hope that old faggot boomer dies so we can get a progressive congress. How many PoC artists do you hear on Classic Rock radio huh???

are you even trying
THE BLARNEY STONE BRINGS DUBS TO ME EYES.
>literally all the songs are filler except for Sister Ray and maybe the title track
Why the fuck is this so overrated?
>>68824464
How can one person be so wrong.
Listen again until you get it.
>>68824487
Explain to me how the other songs are not filler then, they all sound uninspired and unnecessary when you could just release Sister Ray on its own. Compare it to TVU&N or TVU where pretty much all the songs are consistently good.
>>68824549
How many times have you listened to it?
I think all the songs are good. Especially the gift and lady Godiva's operation. Sister Ray obviously pushed boundaries of rock music but the others, to me at least, are more gripping.
Which artwork do you use? Personally, I prefer the one on the right with the face included.
Also, more albums like this? I don't want memes or cheesy try hard vaporwave. The reason this album works is because it feels natural. It feels organic and smooth and well put together. It doesn't feel forced.
anything by vektroid
>>68824442
Looking to branch out from Vektroid.
Initiation Tape is the superior Vektroid album
give me one valid reason why you think grimes is better than her
>protip: you can't
>>68824413
I don't find Bjork's music specifically appealing. I like a few Grimes songs though. Sorry.
>>68824413
grimes only dated asian guys in high school and still has yellow fever today in 2016. if bjork has the same preference, then i will prefer her.
"I know because I grew up in Vancouver and half my high school was Korean or Chinese and the kind of shit I heard all the time was horrible. I used to walk around with my Chinese boyfriend and people would yell slurs out of cars. Racism isn't over. Sexism isn't over. "

why do you care what fucking guys she prefers dating?
Why does /mu/ always say prog is for manchildren? It is by far the most high IQ music genre.
>>68824198
Good opinion
This post actually made me laugh. Audibly. Out loud.
Difficult ("hi IQ") entertainment subjects are often considered "for manchildren" because no one else has the spare time to invest in them.
Sort by latest btw.
no, i dont know what to do

What is some avant prog
I almost never listen to electronic music, but hit me with some super patrician and obscure stuff, preferable dark and disturbing. It must be OBSCURE. If it has more than 25 ratings on RYM I will laugh in your face.

>vocalist + rythm guitarist
>lead guitarist
>bassist + backup vocals
>drummer
>keyboard
Is this the ideal rock band layout?
>>68824067
Eliminate the dedicated keyboard player and make the vocalist/guitarist and bassist/vocalist take care of synth parts
>>68824067
No.
It should be:
>vocalist + really ocasionally keyboard
>rythm/only guitarist + backup vocals
>bassist
>lead guitarist + 2nd backup vocals
>drummer
Singer should be an actual good singer with technique who can frontman and showman freely without any instrument and bass should be rythmically tight as fuck, no distractions.
Lead singer piano man
Guitar player
Lead guitar man
Drummer
Percussion guy
Another guy with a sting instrument
Bassist
Guy who plays a different wind or string interment every song
Done
Let's play the "name a current artist that has a predecessor" The artists can be similar in musical style, fan base or general aesthetic.
I'll start:
King Crimson - Tool
Todd Rundgren - Tame Impala
The Grateful Dead - Phish
>>68824030
>Todd Rundgren - Tame Impala
>>68824189
Do you not think Todd Rundgren is a similar artist to Kevin Parker? I see a lot of similarities in their styles. While Todd is more experimental, they appeal to the same crowd.
>>68824272
I see that but I don't think they're kindred spirits really. Maybe Ariel Pink?
