[Is Karma Chameleon the single greatest song in the history of man?] - edition
What does /mu/ think of Lodger?
It's good. Haven't listened to it in years but I remember liking it a lot. It didn't really 'stand out' as much as heroes and low
>>69761220
That's one hell of an instilation
>>69761220
is that an art installation?

far from it
>>69761189
Then what's the worst?
>>69761199
Grime
Thoughts on this album?
it's good
>>69761093
didn't like it very much. Gave it a 2/5 on rateyourmusic.
Thought it was too indulgent and got kind of annoying in the last half. It's kinda like the worst aspects of no wave in one album
Great, interesting album, but I wish it was better. Less overproduced and tame, more raw. Maybe this is an ironic criticism for a no wave album, but I wish it sounded less like a product of the new wave era.
What I'm trying to get at is, James Chance was doing something really cool with his raw, passionate, yet noisy/avant garde sound, and I don't feel like Buy captures the power of what he did. I wish he'd taken more cues from how DNA were recording, or maybe what the Stooges did on Funhouse
is björk the female bowie?
It's a bit of an apple and oranges comparison. They're both great, but I don't think either one is the male/female version of anyone.
>>69761006
Maybe if you see it as being the greatest female and male exponents of art-pop. Also: rich visual output
>>69760967
No, Bjork's music actually has substance.
Bowie was just all style.
Thoughts /mu/?
Idk what this album is, but its got a shitty cover...
>>69760931
kinda depends on what type of music it is.
if its for a hiphop album i'd say you will have to work on your cover skills, for soothing ambient it would be decent.
>>69760931
>>69760969
??? Wha ???
So what is this /mu/?
I mean I like it, but what is it?
Also what's your favorite Residents album?
Its a middle school jazz band tuning their instruments.
>>69760827
that shit isn't even experimental
>>69760827
It's considered krautrock, I would say it's a bit more prog oriented at the beginning, and then a bit freak-folky. I like its marcial quality
Probably Not Available, I haven't heard that much.
>Only sexless white dudes listen to my music
what did he mean by this?
>>69760755
>The same kids asking for me to sign their records be the same kids holding their girl tight when I used to walk past them
Damn...
>if you are white don't pretend you understand my music or know where I am coming from.
say what?
>>69760755
He's not wrong
Dean Blunt is fucking awful btw
i think i'm starting to enjoy death grips
what the fuck is happening to me, /mu/?

In fairness TMS isn't all that out there.
What other artists does this apply to?
The Beatles
Beach Boys is the most applicable
Normies think it's boomer music
>>69760605
My favorite band
>HEY ANON-A
>D'YA WANT-A TO BE-A IN THE FALL-A?
I tried to watch the wonderful and frightening world of mark e smith but I needed subs really badly. He makes no sense.
>>69760651
>WHAT D'YA MEAN I MAKE NO SENSE?
>I'LL (indecipherable) UNTIL YOU (indecipherable) UP YOUR (indecipherable) YOU CUNT!
>>69760604
yea, I'll play bongos and sitar
how
why
show me a better looking music player, I'll wait
>>69760452
it's ugly
you have to make a playlist with your library in it just to see your library
It can play FLACs and I can customize it to my hearts content
>tfw failing my music appreciation class
>tfw prof kept calling you a "contrarian faggot"
>tfw he always made fun of your weekly top 10 lists for having obscure albums on them
>tfw he kept telling you scaruffi and Fantano aren't real critics
>tfw he kept implying you were a racist for not listening to a lot of rap and r&b music
>tfw he kept calling you a tryhard for wanting to listen to more classical and jazz music
>tfw he always brought up the 6/10s you gave to popular albums as negative examples for the rest of the class on how to rate albums
Did anyone else take music appreciation classes?
I've taken 2 art education classes, they were good times. Profs were laid back and let me write about whatever I want.
>>69760222
No, but now I'm definitely not lol
>>69760222
>Scaruffi
>Fantano
>real critics
Is there a hip hop album from 2001-2016 that even comes close to Madvillainy?
