Have you ever wanted to organize the classical by date it was composed?
>wow it's old my taste is so eclectic and diverse: the thread
what did you listen to this month? (or week or year or whatever, i don't really care that much)
>>70727509
For some reason I could never really get into Technique. Stone Roses is always a good album though.
this is my week, i've already posted my month a lot

>reading a music review of any album released in the 90s or 00s
>it brings up 9/11 for literally no reason
>the optimistic vibe of this album is befitting of a pre-9/11 world
>the bleak outlook of this album is something that could only come from a post-9/11 world
go fuck yourself
this is not a thing
it wasn't even that big a deal

>reading a music review of any album released in the 10's or 20's
>it brings up social justice issues for literally no reason
>the optimistic vibe of this album is befitting of a post-patriarchal world
>the bleak outlook of this album is something that could only come from a Drumpf presidency
What did I mean by this?
>>70727462
>The most notable album that came out on 9/11 was a They Might Be Giants album
>it gets covered as a tribute to 9/11
>a fucking TMBG album
In all seriousness though Mink Car is actually a really good TMBG album that got the shaft because of being released on literally 9/11, and 9/11 had a pretty big impact on the band's career, for better or for worse.

mother fucker, I've never even read a music review BITCH

Colored hippie man with bad past (possibly in late 20's or thirties) who wears khakis. Since you listen to psychedelic I'm assuming you're far left and recreational drug user.

It reminds me of some 90's videogame dark dungeon levels, but I can't find any music comparable to this.

>literally nothing but just some whispers and noise
Dark ambient I guess
>>70727386
Yep, I listen to a lot of dark ambient, but I'm trying to find similar music to that synth sound.
wouldn't sleep make a better closer as opposed to opener?
>>70727281
its a good opener. Kid A opening with everything in its right place reminds me of it
>>70727281
desu if it didn't start off with sleep I probably wouldn't have the drive to listen through it for the first time
What are some albums you like more for how they sound than for the actual music. Pic related does it for me, musically it's pretty straight-forward prog-thrash but the "accidental production" elevates this to another level. The dry-as-bones, zero reverb production makes this a cold, clinical killing machine. A lot of metal albums from the 80s to early 90s had problems with excessive reverb so this absolutely stands out and aged a lot better than its contemporaries. I'm still surprised how hard this hits at higher volumes just because every sound is so upfront, yet it isn't excessively compressed, it's the actual production not the mastering. Also the political lyrics go surprising well with the unique production, it's like an obelisk of marble that's immovable.
So you want music where you like it for the production but not for the structure?
>>70727241
its so weird, the production on AJFA 'sounds' like the same grey/white industrial color as the artwork, if that makes sense. something so unique about the production wiht the super-scooped guitars, clicky dry kicks and snare and zero bass guitar...
>>70727468
I completely agree. A lot of albums are like that for me. "Heartwork" by Carcass, "Master of Reality" looks as dark and impassable as it sounds or sounded at the time. There are many more but I'm too lazy to type right now.
Idk why I ever even took this man seriously...
>>70727064
Have you listened to the album?
Yeah, Idk if I just really dislike them personally but I thought production wise it was really bland and below average. Then the rapping was pretty shit, T shirt is the only decent song. I just don't see what was great about it
Why don't people respect each other's opinions anymore?
