>find a song I really like
>have to ration my plays of it so I don't get tired of it in a week
Anyone else have this feel?
Nope. I play something till I hate it
I haven't listened to most of my favorite albums since the week I discovered them.
>>70729092
I just recently really got into Radiohead and have already played them 400 or so times in the past week.
Give it 1 more week and i will be hating them.
Granted, I never listened to it as a kid. But honestly it just feels bland and overall not that amazing. Even given the context, and that the Beatles are so fucking influential, I just don't understand why critics circle jerk this album and this band so much.
Genuinely not trying to seem like some scaruffi-drone contrarian faggot, I just want to know what people like about this album. I feel no emotion, I feel no connection, I feel no unique or amazing atmosphere. Its just overall so safe and boring and meh.
Am I a total faggot and missing something?
You had to be there man. Pop album before this were bland and following all the safey rules. Just listen to singles from 1967 like Cherry Cherry (neil diamond) and mcarthur park also from 1967. Then listen to what the beatles did
I listened to them for years and got fucking obsessed with them, and shortly after, sick of them. But when I loved them this was one of my favorites.
Some general reasons I enjoyed it so much:
I enjoyed a lot of the vocal performances on the album, especially from McCartney She's Leaving Home and Lovely Rita. A lot of the vocal performances really shine here (...barring Ringo)
I really enjoyed a lot of the instrumentation. They were pretty god damn uninteresting in the early years because it was just basic 2-guitar-rock. During 66 and 67 they started to experiment a lot more, this album has a lot of great use of pianos, harpsichord, and string sections. On She's Leaving Home and A Day in the Life the orchestras are just beautiful.
Lyrically it's...alright. A lot of pretty good stories now and then but lyrics aren't really the focus as much here.
Hope this helps.

This. It's one of those things that was extraordinary at the time. Now to be fair it's still great music, but it's more influential than it is good.
Frankly it's not even in my top 5 Beatle albums. It is quite good though.
essential feminist albums?
no /pol/ pls
There are none whatsoever.

>2014: "I still remember going to the CD World and buying The Sensual World when I was sixteen. And the cover, there’s a rose in front of her mouth that has bloomed, she’s got big wide eyes. And I remember, you know, putting it in the shitty car stereo on the way home, and you know, my life was forever changed.”

I know I’m very late to the party here [laughs], I know this is old news, but I got a Kate Bush record, and I forget— I think “The Dreaming” is on it, though I’m spacing on the name of the record.”

One of my favorites of all time. /mu/ will shit on it for being /mu/-core but there is a lot to love about that album. There's some really cool stuff you get out of that album after repeated listens. There is a lot going on in the album that can lead you down some really cool sounds in electronic music.
