XTC thread? The question to date: What is the best album of the 80s and why is it Skylarking?
If you aren't listening to the corrected polarity version you're listening to Skylarking wrong.
>>71130567
yeah fr fr
Next question: Why does Skylarking make me feel sad when I'm happy and happy when I'm sad?
>>71130586
That's what great albums do.
Holy shit....

I just don't get it. What's the appeal, /mu/?
why do you care what anyone thinks about some random 20 year old album? How is this a priority?
>>71130410
Fuck off, there's no shame in trying to understand why an album gets praise / why others like it when it doesn't appeal to you.
>>71130396
It's one of my favorites just because of how (like many great instrumentals) it can tell a loose story or convey a theme using only sounds and no words. I can close my eyes and imagine incredible things when I listen. Also how sincere it is, the crescendos are really emotional but the whole thing isn't crammed with them like most third wave post rock acts (many who tried to rip them off), and they take their time leading up to those with the quiet moments and the field recordings.
On top of that, no one before it had done anything of this caliber. The only album that comes close is Soundtracks for the Blind, and that's more of a prototype or collection of songs in my opinion, it's nowhere near as cohesive as LYSF.
I've heard people who don't like it call it pretentious, too grandiose, too serious, etc etc etc. And I can completely see where they're all coming from, it isn't for everyone. But I would give it one more listen (light one up if you smoke dudeweedlmao) in a dark room, maybe light a candle, lie down close your eyes and just think of it like a story. And if you think "this is dumb" then that's okay too
>>71130510
>shame
not even implied
I asked how it's a priority.
Is Deezloader the limewire of this generation? Anyone else used this?
>>71130368
Once software like this comes out, it's the death knell for streaming services. Same thing happened to Grooveshark...same thing happened to Jim Hopper...
>>71130455
desu half the music i listen to isn't even on spotify, so im a lost cause there.

I have some records & cassettes I want to sell, is there some kind of way to go about selling to people from /mu/ or at least offering like I've seen on /fa/?
I'd list on discogs, but it seems it'd take long for anything to go, and I don't want to use ebay because I'd rather sell to someone here first.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQ3jgnxh2wk
Perhaps put it up on eBay and make a selling general or something
If not just go to discogs as you said or rip it and up it on slsk
>>71130152
>people actually listen to this
no one can be that dumb
>>71130129
I've seen selling threads here before, just put it up somewhere before you post so there's a middle man

Is Stairway to Heaven babby's first prog song or is it Bohemian Rhapsody?
Definitely Stairway. At least Freddie didn't steal Bohemian Rhapsody.

Yeah. Say what you want about Queen, at least they came up with their shit. They weren't thieves.

Neither of those are prog lol both are just ballads. No Quarter is prog

>A week ahead of Lovelyz's comeback Woollim stated that Jung Yein sustained an ankle injury during practice on February 20th. The extent of the injury is still unknown so they are letting her rest with a half cast on her ankle. They are unsure if she will participate in their comeback. Her health is their top priority so they will make sure she is in proper condition before being active.
