That said music has never been easier to record and publish - so i agree with you that the amount of indie "DEEP AND ORIGINAL" garbage floating around is awful.

thanks for giving feedback, I appreciate it. now, I agree with most of your criticisms, but I can't help but feel you've misunderstood what I'm trying to achieve. I'm very consciously producing it with low-fidelity - I love the ambiguity of the sounds. furthermore, I record everything with a laptop mic, not caring about the relation to the mic and the instrument. this gives the sounds a natural, unpredictable character that's unique for the specific moment I'm recording. all the dirt, grime and noise are all bi-products of the moment and the situation I recorded the piece. this makes the piece more about the circumstance it was recorded in, rather than the notes, chords or time signatures. the beginning and end is a recording of the leaking sounds of my friends headphones, and the voice is a cut out from a secret recording of a conversation we had.

as far as the mix and mastering goes I'd love to hear what you'd change. I'm not completely happy with it either, but I do want to keep the clypping and noises. I realize the maracas, or if we're honest - the salt shaker - might be a little loud at times. but it's played by the friend I was recording besides, and therefore I like the idea of having it prominently showcased.

I don't intend to disregard your criticisms, as they're all valid - and adjusting for them would probably make for a piece that's easier to appreciate. it's just not what I was going for.

I am dreaming of Eden. The garden is an unnatural mould. Every inch of it pulsates with a sickening, primordial consciousness. No part of it is unique. It is an interconnected single entity with a host of different physical qualities and manifestations. All of them subvert the expected. The bark of the trees is not rough but a fuzzy, velvet like skin which peels away easily at the touch. The stems of the flowers dissolve into a viscous liquid, which quickly reforms itself around whatever it has come into contact with. The boulders and raised concave shelves which litter and shade the groves are not coarse and hard but have a bewildering elasticity. None of it is possible, all of it surreal. Only the granite paths themselves which lead dizzyingly through the dense natural mazes, and the columns which line them, feel as if they are truly there. Carved into the columns are delirious messages. They are barely coherent collections of words left there by walkers gone for too long, perhaps lost in the many stretching paths of the garden. Some are apologetic, others distraught. Others are vicious and violent passages, malevolent tirades of harm intended, sickening details of methods to lure and bait.

I am dreaming of Eden. My bare feet are again pacing the lukewarm granite paths. My head is again turning on a dime always. My hands itch itch itch with that same nervous fever. A draft of aromatic charcoal pollen bleeds its way into my arm and I feel nothing. Nothing leaks from the peppered raw wounds. Somewhere in the distance closest to me, some unknown creature lets out an undulating chirruping howl. I am asleep on my feet. I do not know my way.

I am dreaming of Eden. I pass through a gauntlet of towering pale trees. The sickly thin bone giants rise up and canopy above me. They stretch on beyond the eye’s limit. A weak and scratching haze of sunlight penetrates their limbs. Countless bodies hang here. Only the path is clear. It leads its twisted way through the trunks, never more than a short stretch visible before it twists away behind them again. My lower body is entirely numb. Everything is still. I cannot block out the quiet lullaby of the swinging cadavers. It is a siren song.
