how do we stop Robert Christgau from editing every wikipedia page he can get his hands on and interjecting his worthless opinions on?
He is completely rampant, some pages on artists only have two paragraphs, with one being a description of the band, and the other Robert Christgaus review of that band.
he just writes reviews for people that don't like reviews
dude was smart enough to get into dartmouth when he was like 17 and he still ended up pioneering the modern day nu male
>>75035676
He set the trend for every hack with a creative writing degree to decide they were a music critic.
>>75035703
The dude wanted to be a novelist but he didn't have the talent to create anything good so he devoted his life instead to shitting on actually talented people.
These threads are for the discussion of Icelandic singer, songwriter, record producer, DJ, and multimedia artist Björk
Guðmundsdóttir. All Björk-related discussion is welcome, but try to keep it music related.

Shout out to my fellow /arab/ros, molest your daughters in the name of Allah and slay every enemy of the one true God
Oh shit this isn't facebook
So what are many of her songs about?
Let's start with
Belly of the beat
I cannot help but laugh when I read the annotations that somebody wrote on genius, what the fuck is this?
I, I've been thinking, I've been thinking
I, I've been thinking, I've been thinking
I, I could leave the world today
Everybody dies, we anoint their eyes and we dance like angels do
Writing out your name, little shapes that feign some knowledge of you
<<Here, Grimes contemplates on the nature of death in comparison with imagination or escapism through art. She begs the question: who is really dead – the living or the dead?
Grimes recognizes the inevitability of death, pointing out that death is going to happen to all of us. She then continues to add commentary on society’s fixation with death with the existence of rituals like the Christian faith’s current practice of anointment. The underlying message is about the absurdity living blessing the dead despite death’s common and unavoidable nature.
The latter half of these lyrics ask the listener to break free from the limitations on perception set by religious faith (which largely deals with the dead and supernatural) and indoctrinated notions of oneself.>>
Who is this faggot trying to fool? I hope he burns in hell.

These are my favorite lyrics of hers:

Grimes- Skin
What's she talking about?
how can music be "emotionally dishonest"? I know it's a meme but what the fuck does it even mean?
>>75033152
Yes, of course, and you posted a prime example of emotional dishonesty. Basically, it's when an artist uses very basic and expected chord progressions in order to emulate a certain emotion, which of course fails everytime to anyone who isn't easily blinded by such pitiful tricks. It's very common in most /mu/core albums, and pop music in general.
Relies on the idea that the art and artist have to have some intrinsic connection or that that is somehow important or necessary. Complete bullshit, ignore any douchebag that uses stupid phrases like that. Pure pretension.
>>75033152
it's supposed to mean that the artist is pretending to be sad/angry/whatever in order to garner people's sympathybux. Not just portraying sadness, mind you, PRETENDING to be sad. Which is generally something that happens in the lyrics and in the artist's interactions with the media and the public.
Music itself, as in notes and stuff, can't be emotionally dishonest because it doesn't feel anything.
old one about to 404,
what do you expect from the new album? share conspiracies, ideas, and general conversation here friends.

It represents who I am. I have been studying music for the last 10 years. I listen to music from all over the world.
My music is all electronic. I made tracks 1-7 & 12 in Fruity Loops (Demo) and tracks 8-11 & 13 in Garage Band (iOS).
I have no idea what genre it is. But I am influenced by all music.
There are some jazz elements, hip hop, classical, house, prog metal, r&b, funk, its got it all.

Hello there! We actually have threads dedicated to posting original music or albums like this. Soundcloud threads, Bandcamp threads or marketing threads where everybody posts links to their respective pages of music to showcase songs or albums they've created. /mu/ moderators don't typically allow self promotion posts like these outside of the containment threads. Try posting in one of them next time
Regardless, I'll take a listen :)

this is garbage

I didn't see any BandCamp threads. Also... BandCamp threads don't get musician's and their music out to the public. It just sits there.
My music means my life to me. I think it deserves its own thread.
