So which is worse - rockism or poptimism?

black people making music
Poptimism is far worse because it just legitimizes apathy and droning corporate publications.
Rockism legitimizes SOME independent thought.
Poptimism is mindlessly defending everything because you're afraid of being called a rockist, so that
>"If you're a music student and you haven't sat down and listen to this entire record at least four times. Then your musical education is woefully incomplete"
Do you guys agree with Fantano?
No, he doesn't know shit. It's a good album, but it's an irrelevant album. If he weren't selling himself literally to /mu/, which is where he's from, he would have said this about an actual significant album, like something classical. Pretty sure he's never reviewed classical music.
That's a quote from the musical composer talking about TMR. From this, I can infer you're trying to expose /mu/'s pettiness.
I'm pretty sure he's never fucking said this.
This is Danz, the indie musician Computer Magic.
Say something nice about her!

My dad is obsessed with Ryan Adams. He thinks the dude is the greatest thing ever.
I just wish he'd go back to the Grateful Dead and Springsteen instead of this shithead.

Leaving feedback for whatever looks interesting, always appreciate getting feedback myself.
aside from Hurley, he sounds the same on every song since the green album.
Blink 182 guy lol
He totally ruins Heard Em Say for me
Why does /mu/ despise U2 so much and place them in the ranks of Nickelback and 21 Pilots?
They rose up in the late 70s alongside and directly influenced by a myriad of post-punk acts, worked with Eno and Martin Hannett, played shows with This Heat, got Einstürzende Neubauten to open for them at the height of their fame, and their guitarist once made a collaborative album with the members of Can and PiL featuring contributions from Arthur Russell.
Oh and they made great albums in the 80s and 90s and disseminated their influence pretty widely.
/mu/ doesn't. /mu/ is pretty much the only place on the internet where their 20th-century stuff is still admired and respected.
The Unforgettable Fire is unironically my favorite post punk album
most people who dislike them have heard 3 or less of their radio songs
>>74960602
And most of the radio songs from the 21st century too it's shit like Vertigo
>RYM says they're the greatest of all time
>Number one on p4k's people's list
>Fantano worships them
>Every single /mu/tant has them in their chart
I don't understand. I have their albums, and I've given them several listens over the years. But they're just ok. They're not the greatest music group of all time, they're mediocre even when compared to the rest of the music the /mu/ essentials chart gives, as there are artists who do far more interesting things with music even on there.
Please explain to me in length why they are so highly venerated, and what is it about them that makes you love them so. And don't say it's an ironic meme because Radiohead fans get legitamitely butthurt whenever I say these things about their band. Help me understand what it is about Radiohead that makes them so good, /mu/, I'm losing my sanity over this.

But he's right. Why do you think vaporwave is popular?

Grimes, 'innit?

Groans gets a bad rap, I think if he shaved his head and stopped wearing girls clothes people would see him for the handsome young man that he really is.
Stop

Do we have a chart like this yet? That is, one with black and white album covers only.
Or is grayscale the appropriate term I'm not sure.

It is
Death Grips - The Money Store
Bjork - Debut
Grimes - Geidi Primes, Halfaxa, Go, Entropy
Describe every personality with an album
I was obsessed with MBTI for like three months until I realized it literally is complete non sense
I still cringe thinking back at how seriously I took it
it's essentially /x/ tier logic projected onto personalities. the "cognitive functions" that underpin the whole theory are completely fabricated
>>74956879
I know, it's pretty stupid and I myself (I'm OP) don't take it seriously. Still, I like MBTI memes and I wanted to see what albums would be associated with the stereotype of every type.
>>74956879
it's not complete nonsense, just old psychology. Most psychologists consider Jung and Freud important and influential back then but outdated now
thoughts on this masterpiece?
It literally has 2 good songs, but it is the best thing she ever did.
one of top10 albums of the decade
>>74956748
I had first heard of Grimes because of this album I checked it out because the artwork looked like it was going to be a noisy Japanese hardcore album. I have a good memory associated with this album too
So we all agree that this is the best Steely Dan album, right?
Sure mefiocre album for a mediocre band
>>74955970
>Steely Dan
>mediocre
You sure like to pull your plebby little pants down don't you?
>>74955958
And no.
That would be The Royal Scam.
Is that a good album to get into Steely Dan with?
