I understand the goal of persevering cultures and shit but what's the fucking point when 99% of it sounds like gurgled-up unlistenable retard noise like this?

how hard is it to be able to make a -LIVING- off making music?

not living like a king, just enough to keep a roof, decent food, lil savings ect.

>>71332001
very hard
>>
>>71332001
The total amount of money you receive off of making music has to exceed your living expenses, so pretty hard.

You'd have to

1.) Make music (difficult for most since people are lazy)
2.) Have people like it (this step kills almost everyone)
3.) Have enough people like it to get noticed by blogs, review sites and labels if you wanna sign (fat chance in hell)
4.) Consistently do this until a steady stream of revenue from album, merch and touring can pay your bills (might as well try running for president)

It's impossible.

>>
>>71147878

Spider: I think I can explain about... about how the pigs' music works
Monica: Well, this should be interesting
Spider: Remember that they make music with a very dense light. And remember about the smoke standing still and how they... they really get uptight when you try to move the smoke, right?
Monica: Right
John: Yeah?
Spider: I think the music in that dense light is probably what makes the smoke stand still. Any sort of motion has this effect on... on the ponies' manes. You know, the thing on their neck
John: Hmm...
Spider: As soon as the pony's mane starts to get good in the back any sort of mo... motion, especially of smoke or gas, begins to make the ends split
John: That's the basis of all their nationalism. Like if they can't salute the smoke every morning when they get up...
Spider: Yeah, it's a vicious circle. You got it

Is there anyone here that recommends music that they've discovered on their own?
Not from /mu/core charts or other /mu/fags on RYM.

When I ask for recs I just get albums that are constantly regurgitated over and over again around here. Nobody ever has any "gems" or lesser known records to recommend.
Do any of you have actual individualistic tastes? Or should I give up on /mu/ and look for a community that really knows about music?
