Is Ambient music a dying genre?
It seems like an awful idea for any new artist today to pursue ambient music as a way of income, let alone any recognition. Ambient has gone as far as it can and anything else post would just be redundant of past ambient artists. Brain Eno, Loscil, Fennesz, SOTL, Hecker, Gas, Basinski, Eluvium, ect. have pushed the pitiful line that could be pushed with a genre that has very little room to further experiment with
pure ambient music died back in the 80's when it got bastardized into new age
>>71869775
it's hard to tell but if there's no good ambient music produced in the next decade or so i will be the first to admit it's a dead genre. last decade of ambient has been great though
Drone is pretty much modern ambient, few years ago there were lots of great bands doing it but doesn't seem quit as big anymore.
Let's do this
I'd say Views is actually worse than TML, I didn't think it was possible but it's the truth. TML has some fun, dated pop-rap songs while Views is depressing and boring throughout.
>>71869724
Too lazy to actually make a pic.
Worst: Views
Best: If You're Reading This It's Too Late
Overrated: Views
Underrated: Nothing Was the Same
Just started into The Police, what should I expect?
good music. they don't really have a bad album so enjoy.
>>71869723
but if you just listened to Outlandos D'amour they lose that rawness in their music in their later records so don't be too startled by that
God-tier drumming throughout
Is T-Rex /mu/core? I've been digging them a lot lately.
I've heard Slider and Electric Warrior, are any of their other albums worth listening to?
I ve listened to one album of theirs and it was so mediocore and unoriginal i completly forgot what it wascalled
>>71869634
are you gonna stop listening once you find out they aren't?
>>71869634
For the most part no. Get the "Great Hits 1972-1977: The A-Sides" comp, it's got a bunch of great non-album singles as well as the best tracks from the later mediocre albums.
ITT: Albums that get called "classic" way too early
Side A is very cheesy imo. Radio Song being the best. Side B is GOAT though.

How long should we wait?

No one thinks this is a classic

Well shit, asked this in last thread, but it ended: Can anyone recommend me some 80's style pop metal with shredding and good singing. Been into Dokken, Yngwie, and some others, but need more. Thanks

still the best djent album. they were still clearly influenced by thrash metal and it shows in the great guitar work. i wish more djent bands would go more for this type of sound instead of the fruity/spineless prog influenced stuff that most modern bands go for.
Talk about Sun Kil Moon's new album, and new EP
Whatever you want to talk about even the Red House Painters

I'm wearing more tracksuits and feeling like a don
From the Sopranos rest in peace Gandolfini (Gandolfini x2)
