Does a more wretched hive of scum and plebbery than Reddit exist?

>"Neil Peart is le greatest drummer, if you don't like Rush you have a defective brain"
>"Led Zeppelin was the world's first supergroup, also the only good supergroup to exist"
>literally nobody mentions Bruford when discussing greatest drummers but John fucking Bonham is a competitor for that title
>King Crimson's best record was ItCotCK, and Greg Lake was on Red

/mu/ lets talk about outsider music
Is Arthur Russell outsider?
I think this is a cute little mix of pop and outsider music - anything similar guys?
outside of where?
Explain me why this album is supposedly "great/awesome"
>Explain me why this album is supposedly "great/awesome"
I like it, it's pretty good I think.
If I like it, it's good.
Now fuck off, rockist.
It's a collaborative effort between two of hip-hop's great intellectuals. DOOM's solo work is superior (he's a better producer than Madlib), but it's still an essential.

Why are 60/70 music so good?
Started listening to the Animals and Doris. Got any suggestions?

The Kinks
The Beach Boys
The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Try The Moody Blues, The Kinks and The 13th Floor Elevators. Some of my favorites from that era.

>The Jimi Hendrix Experience
I downloaded this album only to find some very corrupt files. "And The Gods Make Love", for example, basically sounded like the recording of an underground tunnel for 1:50 minutes. It wasn't "digitally" corrupt, it was like I was listening to an actual recording of some very experimental music (very creepy).
When I Youtube'd the song, a lot of them sounded the same (or they were muted by Youtube).
What's the deal here? I've heard it has something to do with copyrights?
Why doesn't this album get as much attention as other classics?
>inb4 the title track's the only good song
Easily one of my favorite albums of all time. Lazer Guided Melodies is fantastic too, and I have high hopes for the new album coming out later this year.

Any chance he tours NA with it?

Is it wrong that I like Elliott Smith much more than Bob Dylan, Nick Drake and both Buckleys?
No, it's wrong that you would even ask a shitty fucking question like this.
It speaks to your effeminate sensibilities but I wouldn't say it's objectively "wrong".
>>72307054
Elliott Smith was great. I think from your list, only Bob Dylan is really objectively better, but I still enjoy listening to Elliott more. Like what you like man.

Enough with the 80s rehash shit already. Everywhere I look in music it's all about "le ebin 80s xxxddd!!!11", the new Paramore song being the most recent example.
Aren't we supposed to be in the 90s music revival now - isn't the "nostalgia cycle" supposed to be 20 years? Didn't 80s nostalgia already happen in the 2000s? Why do we keep rehashing the fucking 80s and turning them into a meme when the "nostalgia cycle" for them expired eight years ago?
>>72306841
>things must follow the strict patterns and schedules I specify or else
>>72306916
We really should've moved on by now anyway
What else is there to revive about the 80s?
>>72306937
Maybe they like 80s stuff? I was born in the early 90s, I'll be damned if in 20 years I created something 90s related for no other reason than my own enjoyment and some snot nosed whippersnapper like yourself bitched because "you're not following the proper schedule!!!! Snother 90s revival is not due for at least 17 years my friend, it's all part of the cycle!"
