Why are 60/70 music so good?
Started listening to the Animals and Doris. Got any suggestions?

The Kinks
The Beach Boys
The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Try The Moody Blues, The Kinks and The 13th Floor Elevators. Some of my favorites from that era.

I downloaded this album only to find some very corrupt files. "And The Gods Make Love", for example, basically sounded like the recording of an underground tunnel for 1:50 minutes. It wasn't "digitally" corrupt, it was like I was listening to an actual recording of some very experimental music (very creepy).
When I Youtube'd the song, a lot of them sounded the same (or they were muted by Youtube).
What's the deal here? I've heard it has something to do with copyrights?
this is pure garaje rock https://youtu.be/6hotnl2G63Q

His family in charge of his catalogue sell every bit of trash they can scrape up milking his name dry with dross like this. Stick to these at first and only delve deeper later
Are You Experienced
Axis: Bold as Love
Electric Ladyland
Try Honey Ltd
I've had a thing for garage rock lately

Huh, sounds like they were ahead of their time. Comes off as a very 80s song.
Checked out some garage rock stuff. Definitely something I could get behind, thought I didn't really like >>72307614's song (no offence, but it doesn't sound like even they take themselves seriously)

Nobody suggested the Beatles yet, but it goes without saying.
Stay classy /mu/
What about the doors?

I didn't see someone posted the Shaggs till now. I'm assuming you're serious so I'll tell you that you should look up thier history, and you'll understand why they're a terrible example of garage rock, but important none the less

Doris Day? Or did you mean to say The Doors?
Sparks are pretty create. Here are my 3 most favorite albums that they put out during the 70's:

Doris Svensson
She has only 1 album I think, called "Did You Give the World Some Love Today Baby".
Except "Grey Rain of Sweden", "Daises", and "Won't you take me to the theater", the whole album is pretty fucking solid imo.
The weirdest and most out-of-place song (for away from being the worst) in the album, "You Never Come Closer", plays in GTA V's radio sometimes.
Sparks seems nice. Some of the songs sound a little... weird for me? But overall I'd definitely give it higher than 7/10.

So basically their father wanted them to become a band due to their mother's wish, and they turned out to be terrible and ended up as a failure except in their local area, but they were so bad that they went a full circle and some top-tier musicians liked them? Is this the whole story?
Cool story, but I still don't think I'd listen to them. Still, pretty cool story. I'm glad they became famous in the end apparently.
