I disagree with that framing. I agree completely that the 00s were ridden with retro nostalgia, but IMO the 2010s have moved past that. There's a lot of very forward thinking stuff nowadays, so I don't see that focus on revivalism and nostalgia anymore.

Nothing went wrong. It's a solid album, but it isn't their best work.

It lacks artistic vision. It's boring and generic. The Gorillaz aspect is gone, making the aforementioned points even worse.

How much of a dumbass does Damon have to be that the deluxe songs are overall better than the original album? Getting through this album is a chore.
