/mu/ failed me there's no way I should just now be discovering this album after nearly a decade here
Next listen to New Adventures in Hi-Fi.
Then go through their 80s albums starting with Chronic Town and ending at Document.
murmur is the best
>>72659223
find the river is easily one of my favourite songs
if an album requires multiple listens to "click" it's actually a shit album and you are forcing yourslef into liking it
>>72659143
dude stockhausen is shit because it sounds weird the first time xD
That's how you sound
>>72659143
Wow I never realized it before.
Your superior intellect has convinced me. I am a changed man.
>>72659143
You know people's opinions can change over time, right? Movie critics often rewatch films and make a complete 180 on their view of it
If we removed any one individual from history, which one would change music the most?

Old thread >>72639313
How to write good solos for my band's songs?
I can't come up with something worthful for that specific song.
I just play some notes from the vocal line and noodle the rest.
>>72659080
Call forward or back to another part of the song. Other than that you're on the right track. Use the vocal melody as a guide but don't just follow it.

Bones thread
I just found out about him or week or two ago when Unrendered came out. He's not the greatest rapper ever but he's consistent with what he does and has enough variety that if you're in the mood for him, he can be a good listen
>>72659014
best one: garbage
runner up: rotten
Admit it /mu/, you liked it.
I did, nothing wrong with that
Submission is the only good song
Needs some more Danger Mouse tbdesu

Why is Spiderland so influential? It sounds so generic. What were they doing at the time that no one else was?
>>72657633
wtf is that thing
>>72657633
Well, first off, their drummer was an absolute prodigy. He was about 20 when they recorded Spiderland and still blew the fuck out of most drummers ever. The other musicians really feed off his intensely precise drumming, creating very tense and angled music.
I would highly recommend you check out some of their demo recordings.

In the documentary you get to see live footage from a basement practice session for Good Morning, Captain and it is insane. This is good, but not quite the same as its just the demo playing over other footage.
