SAINT TEREESAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Been meaning to check out that Los Planetas album that's become a meme on rym
>>72660016
That's definitely on my album of the year so far list. Sure one can say it's more of the same from Thundercat, but that same stuff is still real good stuff so I find it hard to complain.
>>72659667
lol really underwhelming.
just because it has the name "slowdive" on it
doesn't mean you should praise it no matter what
snorefest

meh
https://bleep.com/release/82337-luke-vibert-luke-vibert-presents-garave-vol-1
Luke Vibert Presents Garave Vol. 1, a loving homage to the glory days of US and UK garage and rave that is executed with the same cheeky swagger that made his jungle LP Amen Andrews Vs Spac Hand Luke such a peak time draw for those plugged into the Rephlex/Hypercolour sound.
Littered with his usual sampladelic sense of fun, Garave Vol. 1 takes all the elements of peak time garage, house and rave (including many lifted samples that will prick a lot of ears!) and distills them into Vibert's trademark mixture of bouncin' basslines and shuffled beats.
Haven't heard anything good this year yet. And my definition of good means an album with at least 3 tracks that are kind of likeable.
Pls dont let 2017 be worse than 2016
>>72660953
Tzusing's new album is pretty essential if you have any interest in bleeps, honestly. It's pretty accessible, but at the same time very intense and hypnotic.

do you have a dl link to that you can share?
>>72661788
No, heard a live playback of it (the main piece), and the composer shared the other two tracks on it. Will have a link when the whole thing is officially released.
>>72658789
The megadeth one.
>>72661816
do you seriously like this shit? i feel its overhyped because of his connections to important historical works of music and the clout of the people in his not because its good. its the most generic space rock wooshy guitars ive ever heard. the good drumming doesnt save it.
>>72661916
Someone piss in your wheaties? It's good, not his best, and while he may be hyped it's mostly justified.
I know better stuff will come out this year (looking at you, Secret Chiefs 3) but this is a pretty good one so far.
>>72661914
I keep going back to the Gag File, it's great.
<--- this is pretty promising from the samples so far
Surprised nobody has mentioned Carrie & Lowell Live...
>>72661959
no its awful. definition of good on paper bad in execution music. no one would take it seriously without the names attatched.

Typical /mu/ idiocy.
>>72662081
That's a great one!
>>72660953
It's pretty good, but I've only listened to it twice so it's still digesting. It also has a lot of nonagon/iiymf callbacks too.
>>72660456
Is ulver even good past nattens madrigal
I remember I tried listening to their recent stuff and it made me kinda sick
>>72661959
I might be wrong but I think it's an album of the year so far thread not a this is a pretty good one so far thread

trusting bandana to set this straight though
Fuck me I've been slacking this year. So far I've enjoyed:
Kelly Lee Owens - Self Titled
Sun Kil Moon - Common as Light
Mount Eerie - A Crow Looked At Me
Jonwayne - Rap Album Two
I gotta catch up on music
