Music has avenues for visuals though: album art, concerts, and music videos are all means through which one can form a visual connection to the music and musician. Plus, as the sound alters one's memory of space, music can create deeply personal moments in people's lives; listening to an album for one golden summer, for example. This allows music a greater connectivity within a person's reality than I would say can be said for film, in which the viewer must necessarily ignore their own world for the world of the movie, with understandable exceptions.
