>>74279600
Yeah.
*solves the hard problem of consciousness and puts it in a hook*
>>74279558
Does he have teeth?
>>74279566
>>74279566
Who needs teeth when you have a superior intellect?
>Teenagers from Kentucky
>Vocalist can't even sing properly
>No major label to back them up
>Write 6 incredibly influential tracks
>Literally create the genre of post-rock
>Influence countless musicians in multiple genres
>Recorded in 4 days with minimal takes
What's stopping you /mu/?
it's so much easier to think about doing something than actually doing something.
>teenagers from kentucky
>dressed in green and red
>went off to fight in canada
>but they returned home dead
>it's the only war the yankees lost
>except for vietnam
>and also the alamo, and the bay of ham
They were also dedicated musicians despite most of them still being in their teens. I suck at guitar and violin and I'm in my 20s. Not to mention I'm not nearly as creative or talented.
How did this album become a meme? Serious question
>>74279377
SEMEN STAINS THE MOUNTAIN TOPS
>>74279377
because it's really good. and for a long time, a bunch of people spammed the hell out of it
Was the internets secret favorite album for years before /mu/ which just accordingly jumped on bandwagon
Then was featired on Park and Rec, name dropped by Stephen Colbert and is Reddit ruined now
[incoherent mumbling]
>>74279370
Dude God lmao
>>74279370
>Dude, Cocaine, Heroin and losing my religion lmao
[gets 4/5ths of the way through the song and hits an abrupt change in the flow of the song]
Leonard Cohen is dead
>>74279349
Exactly. Jamie is the only one who comes close.
Frank Ocean
Beyonce
Kanye West
Drake
Future
That was easy...
Why did it fail?
Because its against everything tyler stands for nowadays
Did it? It launched the careers of 3 musicians who still have mainstream/underground success. That's better than most rap groups do.

Because marketing to teenagers is always temporary. The current audience ages and tries to distance themselves from things they used to like in a doomed attempt to convince themselves they've magically become a new adult version of their past self and the next prospective audience wants to find their own thing instead of just copying the people a few years older than them. Shit happens literally every couple years.
Is Mark E Smith gonna make it bros?
who?
>>74279131
>not knowing The Fall
i hate neo /mu/
>>74279092
I will shed a tear when Mark E is gone
I still love this album.
>>74278693
oh hey you found my bible
are you the same person who made the pretty odd thread? i feel like im with family now
>>74278693
You gay?
>>74278693
Is this anybody else's first album that got them into listening to music in album formats and not just songs or is that just me?
Can we get an Aphex Twin hate thread going?
This guy is without a doubt the most overrated electronic musician to ever make it "big." The way his fanbase and critics alike have built a cult of personality around treating him like he's the most influential person in the history of electronic music is nauseating and dictatorish. The people that listen to him fucking refuse to accept the fact he too, like any other musician, was influenced by his contemporaries as well as artists before him, giving him titles like "The Godfather of Electronic Music" (which is an insult to so many other people that he wouldn't even be here without) and likening him to classical composers he shares nothing in common with. Not one of the releases he has put out since his "return" have contributed anything new or original and yet his cult treats every release like another groundbreaking milestone in history. He makes stagnant pop music for people that don't listen to electronic music and his shitty, de-tuned synth pads killed IDM.
He is okay.
I mean yeah, Syro was shit.
Burial should be the one getting all that praise t b h.
>>74278673
Who should I listen to instead?
>the last album of a quadriplegic Curtis Mayfield, paralyzed from the neck down after a stage light fell on his neck in 1990. Each line had to be recorded one per slow breath and then mixed together with equipment to create each song, with Mayfield singing on his back on the floor of his recording studio. Released in 1996, Curtis died in 1999 due to complications of diabetes

>Listening to Donuts
>Really digging it
>Go to check out J Dillas Wikipedia page to learn more about him
>Get really fucking bummed out and turn off the album
"King's Crossing" and "Passing Feeling" is haunting
Anyone else think Ryan Adams made himself look like a cuck on twitter?
>>74278555
no because he's right and Adams is an actual good songwriter.
Legit never heard of this butthurt manlet. Publicity seeking wash up
>>74278555
fuck off, the Strokes are complete shit
fuck your buzzwords
What does /mu/ think of "The Kinks"? What are their best albums?
>>74278344
Wrote the best Christmas song ever.
they're pretty great. Arthur is a fantastic album
Love The Kinks.
I gravitate more towards their 60s stuff, but they never put out a bad record IMHO.
Do people actually think that Band On The Run is better than Ram?
Ram is way better. BOTR is on par with his first album
>>74278342
I'd say BOTR is a bit better than McCartney 1 but yeah Ram blows it out of the water.
I hope not. Band on the Run is fantastic, but it has nothing on Ram.
