Give me all of your crazy weird obscure music, /mu/! I want something new and alien to sink my teeth into.

Somewhat obscure, but excellent.

I'm a newb and a first time poster but can anyone tell me what does Joy Division have to do with New Order? What's the story there? Thanks in advance
>>74578059
joy division - ian cutis + Gillian Gilbert = new order
Joy Division was a band in the late 70s and their vocalist Ian Curtis committed suicide in 1980, so the remaining 3 members of Joy Division formed New Order.

Thank you. I was wondering, they sound completely different.
Was it worth anything
Yes it's his second best project with maybe his best song to date.
Still need to listen to this
Never listened to this but loved blonde. How stupid am I?
Does anyone know what the Canadian underground rock scene looks like?

Like this
it varies from province to province
Edmontonfag here, we get heaps of shitty local garage bands, so if you've got good musicianship or understand theory, you'll really stand out
Pink Floyd
>>74577968
shittiest taste possible, congrats
PATGOD and SFOS are good but come on
>>74577968
>being this contrarian
who is the best vocalist in sonic youth and why is it lee ranaldo?
>>74577945
it's Lydia Lunch from Death Valley '69, only good vocal performance in their career
hey, joni
karen here
thanks man
>can hear one of the band members go "1, 2, 3, 4" before the song starts
>singer says 1234 after the song has already started
>lead singer shouts "Wan, too, free, foahhhh!!!!!" before every song
>the "1234" is said so quietly so you wouldn't notice it most of the time

I WANT TO LEARN GUITAR
>>74577608
Learn piano instead. You'll be in a much better position to compose your own music, if you ever become interested, and you'll get to experience the endless joys of complex harmonization.

It's not though.
Post a pic.
Others say an ideal album for its setting

Baroque
it just takes practice
listen to sousa marches and chopin waltzes and try to find the difference

Stupid frogcancer
1. Tap along with it until you find the right speed where your tapping stays in sync with the music
2. Count how many taps it takes until the rhythmic pattern repeats again
Surprisingly great albums that you refused to listen to because of some preconceived notion
>>74577476
Unironically one of my favorite albums.
I would fill this thread up to the post limit

So, I want to get into more electronic music, but I have no idea where to start. It's not like when you're a kid, and you start off just listening to whatever dad-rock is thrown in your fat fuckin' face.
Pic related, this is now one of my all time favorite albums. I heard it, I'm in love, I fucking love this album. What's something similar? Or what do you recommend based on this? I'm looking for stuff that isn't just shallow, expendable dance music. Wanting something more deep than that.
And wtf is even happening in electronic music right now? It's definitely not relevant enough in the mainstream for me to know. Last big thing I heard about was Flume's newest album, and Random Access Memories by Daft Punk. And that shit's already considered old news now.
Just go straight to the best

A very obvious recommendation is Sweet Trip - Velocity:Design:Comfort (first track is very glitchy, after that it's more relaxed)

This is good too, although it's more "band format" than what I typically think of when the term "electronic music" is brought up. That shouldn't keep you from it though, although it's length should, if anything. I do find that to be a flaw, but I also admittedly am not as patient as a lot of people are. This was the song someone on /mu/ linked to me that convinced me to check it out.

This is kinda in the same vein I guess
Vanity Fair by Mr. Bungle
Paul Steel - April & I. Just listened to this recently and felt big a Jellyfish vibe.

Would love to hear more recs though, I don't know anything else quite like Jellyfish.
What's that jazz album that when you see someone else say they like it you automatically know they have good taste?
>>74577281
for me, your album produces the exact opposite reaction
How about the opposite? Which album or artist lets you know that someone has shit taste if they namedrop it?
For me, it's literally any ECM album.
