Treats is an indie party rock classic but everything else they've done barring jessica rabbit had some good songs but were mostly forgettable. Jessica Rabbit was outright shit

phish is sterile pop rock. watch his cover of peaches en regalia. they didn't change a thing the fuckin nerds

It's improvisational rock. They're able to build off each other's ideas on the fly to the point where a song ends completely differently than it began, transforms into other song, etc. Say what you will about how it's cheesy or not your style or whatever, but the complexity and musicianship that Phish are able to display on any given night is unparalleled in improvisational rock.
