"Ahll ask dah cap'n." It goes back to the deck, and you notice that what you thought was chitin is actually some kind of copper armor.
Several minutes later a few of them bring a sphere, and you flutter into ths sheep to see it better. It's covered with complex designs in inks of several colours, seemingly indicating pathways for cities and stars to move along.
"Can I see one of you more closely?" You ask, noticing that they keep their distance, "I don't think I've ever seen one like you..."
After a moment one moves closer to the sole torch on the ship, calling at you to follow it, and you follow it from what you feel is a respectful distance.
It's still too small.
"Would it bother you if I went for my telescope?" You fly to the roof again for it and go back to it, then adjust its lenses until the image isn't so blurry.
It's not armor at all-- it seems like it's a small worm-like metalic animal, it's five lenses glinting under the light.
"You only have two arms?" You ask after a moment.
"Nodhs e'ryon godh lakhy, yannow." It answers, "Cap'n didn haev enough fer dah legs an midhands."
"I am sorry if I offended you." You smile awkwardly, "I am far from home."
"Eh." It shrugs it off.
You go back to the map and the creatures indicate where you are and where the city is, and once you've copied the map as best you could with colored markers on a foam ball -taking care to write the numbers besides each- you bid them farewell and return to your home, which you guide back to the mare's shack.
The next morning you are trying to understand the map while you have sunlight, and the mare climbs back to her shack and puts several rows of fish to dry. You try not to ignore the smell of it.
"You still there, far away boy?" She shouts.
"Trying to understand the map this things gave me!" You shout back.

I'll admit it, I was mostly in it because cross-Quest pairings and foals was a cute as fuck idea. That alone made it reach my top 5.
Hell, ButtQuest could've ended with the MC(forgot his name whoops) getting kidnapped, tied up, and forced to watch some dyke rape every filly in his class while telling him about how he deserves this for his male privilege, and only stopping to tell him that Bethesda is a good company, and I'd still defend it.
